Check Out Joleen Green’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Joleen Green.

Hi Joleen, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Lucys On Lighthouse opened in the middle of the pandemic in 2020. Starting a business during that time was extremely difficult but we felt we had to keep going into the abyss of uncertainty. After we opened, we weren’t even allowed to have anybody eating inside for the first eight months. It was good for cleaning up but not good for business lol. We’ve now been open six years and are busier than ever. It’s been all worth the struggle. In addition to our amazing comfort food and customized menu, we strive to be a pillar of the community hosting fundraisers for all the schools, comedy nights, live music every weekend for most of the year, game nights and much much more.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Definitely there’s a lot of obstacles when running a small business. Mostly it’s dealing with the government, which isn’t very fun. Staffing can also be challenging, but mostly has been good lately.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
We are definitely known for our laid-back environment and fun atmosphere and delicious comfort food. We have an array of gourmet hotdogs, and you could also make your own however you would like.
Our most popular hotdog is the Asilomar. It’s a bacon wrapped hotdog with our homemade chili, nacho cheese, grilled onions, and grilled jalapeños. Definitely mouth watering!

In addition to our Nathan hotdog selection we have tater tot’s any way you want, homemade chili, fried brussels sprouts with a homemade balsamic reduction and homemade mac & cheese,

There’s no place around like us!

What does success mean to you?
In my opinion, defining success would be watching all the happy faces while they’re dining in a restaurant. That makes me very proud to own an establishment that makes people happy.
