Today we’d like to introduce you to Maxwell Wiggins.
Hi Maxwell, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
It all started when I was in elementary school just being a little boy painting portraits pictures close-up images. In a mix of trying to find myself in my art.. I always knew I was very creative in my own way, but I also had a darker creativity to what I always wanted to do. growing up I was called weird I was called extra. I was called scary even but they really didn’t stop me from chasing a dream that I wanted to chase and also becoming a person who I always wanted to become.. as time went on I learned the craft of makeup makeup helped me design the person that I am today and it helped me show my creativity in person instead of just on a canvas because I am the canvas. create my own lane of grunge glam makeup is a a lot of color, but also looking deranged and grungy.. I allowed my art that I was taught in elementary school all the way up to high school and to college to create the person that I am today.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I would say the road hasn’t been smooth, but however, I walk in my own pace. I know when a jump when it’s time, and I create my own lane when it comes to the process of how smooth I want my world to be.. and yes, there’s always struggles. There’s been struggles that I feel that people are not looking at me. People are not noticing my artwork people are not noticing my personality but after a while, I just stopped thinking about it because I needed to be my biggest fan before I allow other people to be my biggest fan.. in any industry that you’re trying to break doors and make your name known. It’s always gonna be a struggle. You just can’t allow your mind to struggle with it.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
With my creativity, I created a lane for myself called grunge glam, grunge glam is a lot of colors in different places that doesn’t need to be stars and looking possessed and also having a personality that everyone loves and they connect with the cookie and crazy and chaotic things that I might say, but they are more in love with the art, artistic part of me. What says me aside from the people in my industry is just me. I know how to be creative and funny and be a personality versus what people expect to see. I feel like in the industry. Everyone has to have a monotone type of content, I don’t wanna have that and I see myself being bigger than what other people will see and I see my lane being expanded with other grunge, glam creators and them, allowing themselves to shine brighter than the stars that I draw on my face. What I specialize in is colors a lot of glitter and shimmer and making people laugh and have a good time.
What does success mean to you?
How I define success is my name being plastered all around the world seeing my face on billboards campaigns PR packages. Also helping younger, black, gay boys all racist matter of fact to show them that you can be just like me don’t be afraid of what another person has to say you have to be strong and stay on your own 2 feet and create.. I also define success is having a lot of money. I mean, we can’t live without no money and success and money goes hand-in-hand for me and I see myself as a billionaire you know I don’t wanna double down on myself when it comes to my success because even though I want to be famous and rich, I also want to be happy. I also want to navigate my life, and I have to worry where to turn to next to find help.
