Hi Selena, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’m Selena and I’m a micro influencer on TikTok. My handle is @staygoldselena. I started my account during the pandemic and started gaining a following once I began posting anime related content. I was introduced to anime through TikTok and began making videos pertaining to my favorite anime’s. I had a couple viral videos that helped build my following to over 45k. This following has come with some cool perks & opportunities that I’ve been very grateful for. Fast forward to today, I haven’t been watching anime as much so I have switched my content towards fashion, beauty and life style but I have been wanting to bring back my anime content. I look forward to rediscovering my love for anime and possibly making more anime related content in the future!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I believe that with the selling of TikTok to the US, it caused a change in the algorithm. That combined with us no longer being in a pandemic and everyone back at work, it has caused low views which can be discouraging. Also of course when you have viral videos you will always end up getting hate. It can be hard to deal with but I think I’ve done a good job at not letting it get to me.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m most likely known for my anime content on TikTok. I love making videos. I’m so grateful for all the blessings that I’ve experienced through TikTok. I wouldn’t say there is any one video I’m most proud of but I think I’m more so proud of my consistency and that I refuse to give up even when it seems pointless or views are low. I think that just goes to show my love, passion and dedication for what I do.

Most people who know me from TikTok probably don’t know that I actually don’t do social media as a job (though that is a dream of mine) I have a regular job working with children with special needs!
