Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittany D’Andrea.
Hi Brittany, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
So much has led me here, I could really layout has style & fashion has oddly supported me through the grieviest hardest times of my life as well as the biggest joys, but lets start here…I’ve worked across many corners of the fashion world, but what keeps me here is one simple belief: every body, at every stage of life, deserves great style.
I studied Fashion Design at FIDM, where I learned the ins and outs of fit, structure, and all the little details that make clothing come alive on a unique body. From many years of retail at Anthropologie and styling at Nordstrom to intimate bridal fittings with Amy Kuschel in San Francisco, I’ve seen firsthand how powerful it is when clothing tells someone’s story and makes them feel like their most authentic self.
This work became even more personal after I had my daughter. Postpartum depression made getting dressed something that once brought me so much joy, feel so heavy. I lived in sweatpants, not because I loved them, but because I couldn’t imagine other options. One day, I decided to style myself again. I put on a blouse, some comfy-yet-cute pants, a little jewelry, and for the first time in a while, I felt awake, energized, and more like me. That moment changed everything.
I started this business because I know how much clothing can affect the way we show up, for ourselves and for the people we love. Style isn’t about chasing trends; it’s about having a wardrobe that supports you through every chapter, whether that’s motherhood, career shifts, inner personal transitions, or just the everyday ups and downs of life.
I love to help others find a style that feels like a friend, one that reminds you who you are, helps you feel beautiful, and brings back joy in the simple act of getting dressed.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Getting me here with this business I could say has not been a smooth road, I was lucky to experience different aspects in business before to help conceptualize how to start. But, It was one of the hardest things I went through that shed the light on the mission itself.
What I found through a very rocky long season in my twenties of loss, grief, joy, more loss, more joy and then a very unexpected experience of post partum depression in my early thirties was style had been their all along. The joy, the comfort, the passion and how deeply it could help others and how much I wanted to do just that. it was the consistent self identifier that was there all along through every unknown.
As you know, we’re big fans of Britt Marianna Styling Co. . For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Britt Marianna Styling Co. is an approachable welcoming start to discovering how embracing and identifying your personal style can be a vital tool to support you through whatever place in life you’re in. It is priced friendly and compassion is built in to every offering knowing that this is a incredibly vulnerable and personal space for people.
Through many years in the fashion industry I always battled with the stigma around loving fashion, and style, it was as though people criticized it because they didn’t feel included it in. Which is a problem. There are many issues with the “Fashion Industry” Ill be the first to dive in to that but not today :).
However what I want to say is majority of us have a relationship with clothes and wear them everyday, what if that relationship could be a best friend and something that brings you joy and support. In order to shift the inapproachability I am very committed to making sure working with me as a personal stylist is welcoming, safe, and affordable the best I can.
Style is a story about ourselves we get tell, through color, culture, shapes, combinations, prints all of it. It often runs much deeper than we think, in my experience and the stories I have been lucky enough to hear.
Great style should be affordable to everyone, it doesn’t mean always shopping for new items but I love coming into someone’s closet and re styling what they already have and bringing it to life for them. This may not be a reality for everyone I sure do understand that but if I could make it possible for everyone I will absolutely try.
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
Listen to people, hear them, co create with them, and trust the process as I have watched style unfold some of the most beautiful stories for people and support them in ways I ever dreamed of.
