Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr Domo Jones.
Hi Dr Domo, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My journey has always been rooted in one core mission: empowering others to step fully into their purpose, tell their authentic stories, and walk in total alignment.
I started out with a deep passion for visual storytelling, creative strategy, and expression. Over time, that passion naturally evolved into my work as a freelance brand consultant, content creator, graphic designer, and social media strategist. I realized early on that effective branding isn’t just about clean aesthetics—it’s about voice, identity, and creating meaningful connection.
The Evolution of the Brands
As my work grew, so did my desire to build spaces and platforms that address every layer of personal and professional growth:
KnuYou Services: Born out of a drive to help entrepreneurs, creators, and leaders elevate their visual presence, structure their brand identity, and bring their vision to life with intention.
The SALVE Society: A brand created to represent disabilities and the confidence to love who you are flaws and all.
Author & Storyteller: Writing books and sharing written work became a natural extension of my journey, allowing me to share real, transformative insights with people seeking depth and clarity.
One Billion Brave & the Power of Platform
A major turning point in my journey was launching and hosting One Billion Brave. Producing the show and podcast allowed me to step into the role of facilitator—creating a platform centered on real conversations, bravery, and personal transformation. For me, standard creative work gained a deeper purpose: helping people move from where they were to being fully whole, grounded, and HEALED.
Where I Am Today
Today, my work sits at the intersection of business strategy, creative direction, and purposeful media. Grounded in business administration and entrepreneurship, I continue to build platforms, refine brand visual identities, produce impactful content, and help others step boldly into their own next chapter.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth, linear road—but I don’t think any journey worth taking ever is.
When you’re wearing multiple hats—as a creator, brand consultant, entrepreneur, author, and host—the road comes with its own unique set of trial-by-fire moments.
1. Balancing the Vision with the Execution
One of the biggest early hurdles was learning how to manage all the moving parts. When you have big visions for platforms like KnuYou Services, The Raw Regimen, and The SALVE Society, it’s easy to get caught in the whirlwind of idea generation. The real struggle was building the discipline to slow down, structure the business side, and streamline services so that quality never suffered while scaling up. Transitioning from just “doing creative work” to operating with real entrepreneurial strategy took time, focus, and a lot of trial and error.
2. Navigating Vulnerability & Building One Billion Brave
Stepping into the host’s chair for One Billion Brave and putting my own written work out into the world as an author required a completely different level of resilience. It’s one thing to design and build brands behind the scenes for other people; it’s another to step out front, share authentic stories, and create space for deep, raw, and transformative conversations. Overcoming the initial friction of putting yourself out there consistently—and holding space for others to do the same—was a mental shift that required building genuine inner strength.
3. Maintaining Alignment & Avoiding Burnout
In the creative and entrepreneurial space, the pressure to conform to quick trends or take on work that doesn’t fit your core values is real. Staying true to a mission centered on authentic growth, purpose, and being HEALED meant saying “no” to opportunities that didn’t align, even when it would have been easier to take the shortcut. Learning to balance heavy workloads across content creation, design, and media production without sacrificing personal wellness was a major learning curve.
The Takeaway
Every bump in the road was necessary. The pivots, the long nights perfecting brand strategies, and the moments of learning how to refine my focus are exactly what built the resilience and clarity I operate with today. The struggles didn’t derail the journey—they shaped it.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
My work lives at the dynamic intersection of identity, visual empowerment, adaptive lifestyle, and storytelling. I specialize in translating raw vision and personal identity into tangible, impactful experiences—whether that means elevating a business’s digital footprint or designing adaptive items that celebrate disabled identity.
KnuYou Services: My strategic branding and creative direction agency. I specialize in graphic design, brand strategy, content creation, and digital management—building cohesive visual ecosystems that command attention and drive real engagement.
The SALVE Society: An empowering clothing brand I created specifically to represent the disabled community. I design apparel that promotes self-confidence, challenges traditional fashion norms, and gives wearers a bold way to express who they are with pride.
Walking by Design: A unique venture born out of my desire to bring dignity and flair to physical mobility. I specialize in customizing medical walkers, transforming standard, utilitarian mobility equipment into stylish, personalized pieces of self-expression.
One Billion Brave: My media platform, talk show, and podcast dedicated to holding space for raw, authentic conversations around personal transformation, bravery, and emotional healing.
What Sets Me Apart
What truly distinguishes my ecosystem is purpose-driven customization, representation, and heart.
1. Restoring Pride to Accessibility: Standard medical gear and off-the-rack fashion often overlook the disabled community’s desire for personal expression. Through The SALVE Society and Walking by Design, I break that mold—ensuring that mobility aids and apparel serve as bold extensions of individual style rather than afterthoughts.
2. Empowerment Across Every Touchpoint: Whether I am structuring a brand identity for an entrepreneur through KnuYou Services or crafting apparel that celebrates identity, my core goal never changes: to make people feel seen, confident, and unapologetically themselves.
3. A Story-First Approach: I don’t view design, clothing, or branding as simple transactions. Every project and product carries a deep narrative of resilience, authenticity, and growth.
What I Am Most Proud of Brand-Wise
I am most proud of building brands that directly restore identity, dignity, and confidence.
Creating True Representation: Seeing members of the disabled community wear The SALVE Society apparel with pride, knowing it was designed to represent and celebrate them, is one of my greatest milestones.
Reframing Mobility: Transforming medical walkers into custom, stylish statements through Walking by Design so individuals feel empowered and stylish when navigating the world.
Building a Legacy of Healing: Through One Billion Brave, I take immense pride in cultivating a global platform that encourages people to step into their bravery and embrace being whole and HEALED.
What I Want Readers to Know
I want readers to know that every brand under my umbrella was built to serve, elevate, and empower you.
To the Disabled Community & Allies: The SALVE Society and Walking by Design exist to ensure you never have to sacrifice style, dignity, or confidence. Your identity deserves to be celebrated in full color.
To Entrepreneurs & Visionaries: KnuYou Services is your strategic creative partner, ready to help turn your vision into a standout, high-impact brand identity.
To My Community & Listeners: One Billion Brave is your home for inspiration, vulnerability, and the reminder that walking in your truth is the bravest thing you can do.
Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
To me, risk isn’t about reckless gambling—it’s the price you pay for alignment.
When you choose to live and build authentically, standing still is actually the highest risk of all. Safe routines might feel comfortable, but staying comfortable often costs you your growth, your calling, and your true impact. I view risk as an intentional decision to trade predictable comfort for purposeful evolution.
The Major Risks I’ve Taken
I’ve taken several significant risks along my path, but two pivotal moments truly redefined my life and career:
1. Betting on Niche, Purpose-Driven Ventures Over the “Safe” Path
Early on, it would have been easy to stick strictly to standard digital design and brand strategy through KnuYou Services. It was a proven lane. But I saw glaring gaps in representation, dignity, and accessibility that I couldn’t ignore.
Launching Walking by Design (customizing medical walkers) and The SALVE Society (a clothing brand specifically representing and empowering the disabled community) meant stepping into unconventional markets. Redefining medical gear as a personal fashion statement and challenging standard fashion norms required putting real resources, time, and creative energy on the line for something untried. But the risk was necessary—because ensuring people in the disabled community feel seen, confident, and proud far outweighed the safety of sticking to status-quo design work.
2. Moving From Behind the Scenes to the Front Line
For years, my comfort zone was behind the creative curtain—building visual identities, strategizing for others, and shaping brands from the background.
The major risk was deciding to step out front: launching my talk show and podcast, One Billion Brave, and publishing my own written work as an author. Opening myself up to raw vulnerability, holding space for deep conversations on healing and transformation, and sharing my authentic voice publicly was intimidating. It meant risking judgment and exposure, but stepping into that front-facing role was the only way to build a platform that genuinely helps others become whole and HEALED.
How I Think About Risk
Whenever I’m faced with a major decision, I evaluate risk through three core questions:
What is the cost of inaction? I don’t just look at what I might lose by taking a risk; I look at what I forfeit by staying where I am. If staying safe means shrinking my purpose or denying an unmet need in my community, the risk of doing nothing is far too high.
Is it aligned with my core mission? If a risk aligns with empowering others, restoring dignity, or telling authentic stories, the gamble is worth it—even if the path is uncharted. If it’s just chasing a trend or quick success without heart, it’s a distraction, not a risk worth taking.
Can I turn failure into leverage? Real risk takes away the fear of making mistakes. Even if an initiative doesn’t launch exactly as planned, the lessons, resilience, and clarity gained become the precise roadmap for the next breakthrough.
Ultimately, every meaningful brand I’ve built was born out of a decision to step into the unknown. Bravery isn’t the absence of risk—it’s deciding that the purpose on the other side is worth the jump.
