Community Highlights: Meet Leigh-Anne Anderson of Anderson-PR

Today we’d like to introduce you to Leigh-Anne Anderson.

Hi Leigh-Anne, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I actually got my start in public relations on the other side of the world. Early in my career, I had the opportunity to work in London with one of the world’s leading public relations agencies. It was an incredible training ground where I learned that great PR is about much more than getting media coverage – it’s about understanding people, telling authentic stories, and creating meaningful connections between brands and their audiences.

At my core, I’ve always considered myself a marketer first. That perspective has shaped my approach to public relations over the past 20 years. Rather than chasing headlines, I focus on developing thoughtful PR and marketing strategies that help brands build credibility, trust, and long-term growth. Every campaign starts with understanding the bigger business goals and finding the stories that genuinely resonate.

Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of advising some of the world’s most trusted brands and helping them earn national and international media coverage in outlets including Forbes, TODAY Show, GMA, Food Network, New York, and the Los Angeles Times. Seeing a client’s story come to life in respected publications is always rewarding, but what I enjoy most is knowing that the publicity supports real business results.

Today, I’m proud to call Carpinteria home, where I live with my husband and our two boys. Working from the Central Coast has given me a unique perspective. While many people think impactful PR only happens in major cities, I’ve found that great ideas and compelling stories can come from anywhere. I love partnering with businesses, entrepreneurs, and organizations that are passionate about what they do and helping them elevate their brands on both a national and global stage.

Looking back, my journey has come full circle – from learning the craft in London to building campaigns that create meaningful impact for clients around the world. I’m grateful that I still get to do what I love every day: helping great brands tell great stories.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
One of the biggest misconceptions about public relations is that it’s simply about getting press. In reality, it’s about building trust, protecting reputations, and helping businesses tell stories that genuinely matter. It’s a fast-paced industry where the media landscape changes constantly, deadlines are tight, and what worked yesterday may not work tomorrow.

One of the greatest challenges I’ve faced over the years has been adapting to the ever-changing media landscape. When I started my career, success often meant cultivating relationships with magazine editors and newspaper journalists. Today, those relationships still matter, but the landscape has expanded to include digital media, podcasts, influencers, social platforms, and an audience that expects authenticity more than polished perfection. Staying relevant has meant being willing to continuously learn, evolve, and rethink the way stories are told.

More recently, AI has become one of the biggest shifts our industry has experienced. Like many professionals, I initially wondered how it would change the work we do. What I’ve learned is that AI isn’t replacing great publicists – it’s a simply a tool to help streamline research, but NOT to replace creative thinking. Our emotional intelligence, and storytelling remain deeply human skills. The best campaigns still come from understanding people, not just prompts.

I’ve also learned that resilience is one of the most valuable skills a publicist can have. Not every pitch lands, not every campaign unfolds exactly as planned, and sometimes the best opportunities come after hearing “no” several times. I’ve learned to see those moments not as setbacks, but as opportunities to refine the story, adjust the strategy, and keep moving forward. Persistence, adaptability, and curiosity have been the constants throughout my career.

After more than two decades in PR and marketing, I’m still excited by the challenge. The tools continue to evolve, the platforms change, and the media landscape never stands still – but that’s exactly what keeps this profession so rewarding. My goal has always been to help clients tell authentic stories that build lasting credibility, and whether I’m working with a journalist, a content creator, or leveraging AI to work smarter, that mission hasn’t changed.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Anderson-PR?
At Anderson-PR, we help brands earn credibility, not just attention. While public relations is at the heart of what we do, our approach is rooted in strategic marketing. Every client has a unique story, and our job is to uncover what makes that story meaningful and position it in a way that resonates with the right audience.

We specialize in creating integrated PR and marketing strategies for brands that are looking to grow their visibility, strengthen their reputation, and establish themselves as leaders in their industries. Whether we’re launching a new product, building executive thought leadership, securing national media coverage, or developing long-term brand strategy, our focus is always on creating measurable business impact – not simply generating headlines.

One of the things that sets Anderson-PR apart is our boutique approach. I personally work closely with every client, bringing more than 20 years of global public relations and marketing experience to each engagement. Having started my career in London and worked with trusted brands across a variety of industries, I bring both an international perspective and a personalized level of service that larger agencies often can’t provide.

I’m especially proud of the long-term relationships we’ve built.

Today, the communications landscape is evolving faster than ever. AI, digital media, podcasts, influencers, and new platforms are changing how people consume information, and we embrace those changes while staying true to what has always mattered: authentic storytelling, strong relationships, and strategic thinking. Technology can help us work smarter, but it will never replace the human insight required to build trust and meaningful connections.

If I want readers to remember one thing about Anderson-PR, it’s this: we’re not in the business of chasing publicity – we’re in the business of building brands. We believe the most successful PR isn’t about making the loudest noise; it’s about creating the right message, sharing it with the right audience, and building a reputation that stands the test of time.

What makes you happy?
I love nature and traveling to new destinations with family and friends!
