Hi Sonia, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey into this field began with a fascination for the deep connection between communication, development, and overall systemic health. I founded Holistic Speech Therapy to bridge a crucial gap I saw in traditional care: looking at speech and language not just in isolation, but through a whole-body, functional lens.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has been incredibly rewarding, but like any entrepreneurial journey, it’s a mix of yes and no. The clinical side of helping patients thrive has been a beautiful, smooth evolution. The learning curve really came from stepping into the business world and learning how to build a private practice from the ground up.
We’ve been impressed with Holistic Speech Therapy, Inc, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
What we are truly known for, and what sets us apart, is our collaborative, airway-focused approach. We don’t operate in a vacuum; we partner closely with local dentists, orthodontists, and airway specialists to prepare clients for treatments like palatal expansion or to support orthodontic retention. We bridge the gap between structure and function.
Brand-wise, I am incredibly proud of our clinical footprint and the trust we’ve built across California, including our dedicated clinics serving families in both the Bay Area and San Luis Obispo. We have intentionally scaled our practice while keeping our standard of care exceptionally high, even training and mentoring other talented therapists in our functional methods.
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Success is measured by what we pour back into the world. It is measured not by how high we lift ourselves, but by how we work to lift the collective and leave others better than we found them.
