Today we’d like to introduce you to Alex Monroy.
Alex, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
About 5 years ago, the 3 owners of our shop met through weekly motorcycle rides with a community group called motomenSB. We bonded quickly and soon found ourselves talking about how fun our own garage would be to work on our cars and bikes… at some point, we threw around the idea of starting a garage where we can work on the public’s vehicles too, but mainly it was just for fun. Fast forward to August of 2024, after lots of brainstorming, searching, and planning, it became reality; we’d found our first garage to rent. It took some time to get things started, but we finally accepted our first “customer” job a few months later, and we’ve been steadily growing since. Social media and our community of friends with motomenSB really helped get our name into people’s heads, and we are grateful to have such a strong local community backing us.
Our name, Agile Motorsports, was originally meant to be “AJL Motorsports”, the first initials of each of the 3 owners. We realized that if you try to pronounce AJL as a word, it kinda sounds like Agile, and thus the name was born. .

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Nothing worthwhile is ever easy, much less starting a business. Luckily, we have not run into very large struggles. The first few months were constant losses while we worked out the quirks of renting a garage and running a business. We initially didn’t intend to be public, but we kept thinking about it, and that’s what we ended up doing. Lots of planning and research was necessary to get the ball rolling.
Additionally, time is a big challenge for us as we all work regular day jobs, then open up shop in the evening. Long days and sometimes long nights are a big challenge. Hopefully this won’t be a challenge for too long!
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We work on Motorcycles! We do maintenance, repairs, and modifications on most things with two wheels and a motor. People know our faces from our community rides and appreciate that we are a locally owned and operated business. We pride ourselves on providing excellent service quality and customer service. We aim to provide a friendly and transparent relationship with our customers. Honesty and reliability are things we take very seriously. With over 15 years of combined experience, we are set apart from others by the fact that we take on a lot of projects of different kinds. Anything from Harley Davidsons, KTMs to Vespa scooters; if we feel it’s something in our wheelhouse, we’ll work on it. Not to mention that we are probably the most affordable motorcycle shop in the area. We understand that costs are rising for everyone, so we do what we can to help out our customers financially while still being able to keep our doors open
