Today we’d like to introduce you to Anna Batalova.
Hi Anna, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’m originally from Russia, where I worked in management for several years. I was an HR Director at a medical clinic and later became the General Director of a company that worked with hearing aids. I also had experience in social media, but creativity was always something I wanted to explore more.
When I moved to San Diego two years ago, I had to start over in many ways. I was adjusting to a new country, a new language, and a completely different life. I didn’t have a perfect plan, but I knew I wanted to build something of my own.
That’s how I discovered UGC and began developing my personal brand, AnnaEchoStory. I started creating beauty, fashion, and lifestyle content and gradually building my own community. It gave me a way to combine my business experience with the creative side of me. Since then, I’ve had the opportunity to work with brands such as Armani Beauty and Estée Lauder.
Recently, I also started taking modeling classes and attending my first castings. I’m excited to share that I’ve already been invited to walk in a fashion show at the end of October. I want to feel more confident in front of the camera, continue improving my skills, and create stronger fashion content.
I’m still building this new chapter of my life, but I’m proud of how far I’ve come and excited to see where it takes me.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t always been a smooth road. Moving to the United States meant leaving behind my family, my career, my professional network, and the life I already knew. I had to adjust to a new culture, improve my English, and figure out who I wanted to become in this new chapter.
Starting a personal brand from zero was also challenging. In the beginning, I had to learn everything myself from filming and editing to pitching brands and understanding how the UGC industry works in the U.S. There were moments when I compared myself to other creators, questioned whether I was good enough, or felt discouraged when an opportunity didn’t work out.
One of my biggest challenges has been learning to keep going without waiting until I feel completely ready or confident. I’m still working through that, especially now that I’m attending castings and stepping into modeling. But every small opportunity reminds me that progress is happening. This journey has taught me to be patient with myself, stay consistent, and not be afraid to start over.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I create UGC and share my work through my personal brand, AnnaEchoStory. Most of my content is focused on beauty, fashion, and lifestyle. I create short videos, product demonstrations, unboxings, voiceovers, and photos for brands and social media.
I love creating content that looks beautiful but still feels natural and relatable. I often find inspiration in simple everyday moments a morning coffee, getting ready, trying a new beauty product, or putting together an outfit and turn them into visual stories.
Before moving to the United States, I worked in management, HR, and social media. That experience helps me understand both sides of the work: the creative process and what a brand wants to communicate to its audience.
I’m most proud that I found the courage to start building a new career after moving to another country. Recently, I’ve also started exploring modeling and attending my first castings. I’m still learning and growing, but I genuinely enjoy the process and feel like I’m finally building something that truly reflects who I am.
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
The most important lesson I’ve learned is that you don’t have to feel completely ready before you begin. Confidence doesn’t always come first sometimes it grows only after you take the first step.
Moving to another country and starting over taught me to be more patient with myself. Progress can feel slow, especially when you compare yourself to others, but even small steps can eventually lead to opportunities you never expected.
I’m still learning not to wait for the perfect moment, the perfect idea, or the perfect version of myself. It’s better to start, make mistakes, learn, and keep moving forward. Looking back, many of the things I’m proud of today began with a moment when I was nervous but decided to try anyway.
