Today we’d like to introduce you to Amber.
Hi Amber, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Growing up I always had an interest in rocks and gems. Being from Oregon I would walk the Oregon Coast with my mom as a child collecting them and loving the different varieties and colors. I also loved the gift shops where I’m from in Southern Oregon. They had something special and I grew up going into them and loving the jewelry with gemstones, crystals, and art. Many years later I moved to Nipomo. I would dream of having a Giftshop Gallery, building community, and having a business. I also came to love the fact that our town has a Nipomo Annual Rock and Gem Show that i have become a part of. Now Ive have come full circle and own a Giftshop, Rockshop, Gallery, and Day Spa (my other love “The Healing Arts”). It’s a combination of all the things I love. The Giftshop is at 330 W Tefft St Ste E Nipomo CA 93444. We at Mystic Nature carry rocks, gems, jewelry, over 50 local artists work, and a little Day Spa in the back. Our goal is to support the local arts in our town and offer something Healing for our community here on the Central Coast of California.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been easy. I started on a shoestring budget and worked my way into something bigger. Mystic Nature started in a shed as a vendor for another business in town. I had some handmade gifts, rocks, and plants. Then got into my own brick and mortar that was a small old Barbershop, and was able to bring in the local artist work. Then eventually moved down the street to the larger current location. Owning a small business in a small town definitely has its challenges. Once I expanded and opened the Day Spa at the current location it helped to keep the doors open in the bigger shop and offer more variety.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I think Mystic Nature is unique as we are the only real Giftshop in the town. Supporting the local arts really sets us apart as well. But the little Day Spa in the back has been mostly word of mouth in our small community. I have been a Massage Therapist and Esthetician working in the Spa Industry for 25years. This is the first time to have my own business and offer what i do in my own shop. And I’m grateful for the opportunity.
What matters most to you? Why?
I want to offer something more than just a Shop. I really want people to feel the love when they walk through the doors. And have a Spiritual experience. Wether you are feeling the Nature vibes from the store, experiencing a piece of art, or receiving a treatment in the Spa and Healing Center. I’m hoping you will feel something special on a deeper level.
