Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. LaDissa Moore.
Hi Dr. LaDissa, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey began as a young lady growing up in Los Angeles, loving animals and knowing I wanted to care for them. That passion eventually led me to Tuskegee University, where I earned my Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine and later pursued specialty and integrative veterinary medicine.
As I progressed, my vision for the kind of veterinarian I wanted to be became clearer. I wanted to create an experience where families felt heard, pets were cared for as individuals, and quality veterinary care could meet people where they are. That vision became IVS Mobile Vets. What started as a love for animals has grown into something much larger: an opportunity to create the kind of tailored veterinary care I believe our pets and their families deserve. Being able to serve the families and their pets in the community that helped shape me is very meaningful and makes the journey well worth it.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, since I am paving it myself. As a Black woman, veterinarian, and CEO, I’ve had to navigate an industry where people who look like me are still greatly underrepresented. Today, Black female professionals represent only 1.6% of veterinarians in the United States. For me, that statistic isn’t just a number; it reflects the reality of building and leading in spaces where I haven’t always seen myself represented.
In addition, many communities of color have limited access to quality veterinary services, even when need and demand are high. Those experiences have shaped how I structured IVS Mobile Vets and made this journey about more than entrepreneurship. It’s about creating access, building trust within the communities we serve, and expanding what representation in veterinary medicine and business leadership looks like.
I am building something successful and sustainable so the next generation of Black veterinarians and female entrepreneurs can envision possibilities and have tangible opportunities because businesses like mine exist.

IVS Mobile Vets was built on a simple idea: quality veterinary care should be personal, convenient, and tailored to the individual needs of both the pet and their family.
