Hidden Gems: Meet Andrea Andrews of Chef Mom Virtually LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrea Andrews.

Hi Andrea, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Cooking has always been a passion of mine. I would create recipes and experiment with new dishes. It took a long time to get here, with many adventures along the way. After the military, I enrolled myself into culinary school. The catering program was not available, so I studied Baking and Pastry Arts. This lead to being nominated for the culinary team and numerous high profile events. After graduation, I moved back home to California, and began working in school institutional food services. An opportunity there, led me to furthering my education to become a
Food Service Director. This was an amazing role that empowered the youth of tomorrow, and changed lives.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Roads are not meant to be smooth. It has been a long drive with huge pot holes. The industry changed, I lost my passion and hung up my apron. Before the pandemic, I would not have believed that restaurants would have shut down. The restaurant closures changed everything. My phone rang constantly with people seeking cooking advice. It was wild. Before, I knew it I was back in the kitchen again. I had to do something with all of the inquiries, and Chef Mom Virtually was born.
