Hidden Gems: Meet Toribio Moreyra of Pampa Lighting

Today we’d like to introduce you to Toribio Moreyra.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Worked for the company, company went bankrup in 2021 due to covid. I bought it and moved to the US to run it. Moved the company from LA to SD, and reinvented the company. New website, new branding, new business model. Basically we just sold the same product and that was it. Worked during the day then worked in the restaurant industry at night to pay for bills for 2 years. thats when I went all in with Pampa lighting. Company grew in the 5 years, about double in size every year. Now we have 4 tiem full employees, and many part time contractors that work with us. We sell world wide.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
no, ups and downs. All problems have always been “good” problems. How to restructure onboarding, how to hire people, how to create process inside the company, needing more space, handling high amount of calls and onboardings. some bad problems like being hacked, sued, designing bad products and having to warranty them. etc

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
outdoor lighting manufacturer. We manufacture and sell outdoor lighting to contractors and designers. Unlike our compettiors, we don’t sell to local distributors, we jump over them ,sell to contractors and designers directly, disrupting the market with a new business model. This allows us to sell a similar product to our main competitors for a fraction of the pricepoint, which is what sets us apart. brand wise we are super proud of our high quality product with lifetime warranty, and our customer service, which is a priority we train within our teams. We want readers to know that they can jump over local distirbutors to buy factory direct to save alot of money an time.

How do you think about happiness?
makes me happy to go from an idea to an actual project, with employees, customers and product. Offering not just a job, but a carreer path to my employees, a place where they can grow and develop, make this their actual carreer and grow. Designing new products, and seeing them get “approved” by the market, people liking what we design and what we bring in.
