Inspiring Conversations with Antonia Sullivan of Indigo by Boutin

Today we’d like to introduce you to Antonia Sullivan.

Hi Antonia, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Indigo by Boutin’s handmade decor from Jaipur, Bali, Vietnam, and Cambodia bring the beautiful art of artisan communities to your home.

I founded Indigo by Boutin after a trip to India seven years ago, when I immediately felt an instinctive pull to return someday. Inspired by my mother’s Czech heritage and her love for culture and food, I’ve always carried a deep sense of wanderlust. Textiles have been a part of my life since childhood, and after spending time in India teaching and sourcing for previous work, I felt inspired to continue my own personal journey alongside my team in Jaipur.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road. Building a brand from the ground up comes with a lot of unknowns, and there have been many moments that challenged me both personally and professionally. Working internationally, especially in the fashion and textile world, means constantly navigating logistics, communication across time zones, production delays, and learning how to adapt quickly when things don’t go as planned.

There were also moments of self-doubt in the early stages — learning to trust my vision, take risks, and grow into the role of a business owner. But every challenge has taught me something valuable and ultimately strengthened both the brand and my relationship with my team in Jaipur. Those experiences have made the journey feel even more meaningful and rewarding.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Indigo by Boutin is a lifestyle and textile brand rooted in craftsmanship, storytelling, and intentional design. I work closely with my team in Jaipur, India, to create pieces that celebrate traditional textile techniques while feeling modern, timeless, and effortless. The brand is deeply inspired by travel, culture, art, and the beauty of handmade work.

We specialize in textiles for weddings and corporate events, creating custom pieces and experiences that feel elevated, personal, and memorable. At the same time, the brand is constantly evolving and expanding creatively. We recently launched a dinner series concept that brings people together through thoughtfully curated gatherings, and we’re also incredibly excited to introduce our new children’s clothing line — something we are truly over the moon to share.

What sets Indigo by Boutin apart is the relationship and collaboration behind every piece. I’m deeply intentional about working directly with artisans and small production teams, focusing on quality, authenticity, and preserving the human element within fashion and textiles. Every collection and project is approached with care, blending global inspiration with everyday beauty and functionality.

What I’m most proud of is building a brand that feels personal and connected — not just creating products, but creating experiences, stories, and a sense of community. From sourcing fabrics to designing alongside my team in Jaipur, every step of the process is thoughtful and collaborative.

I want readers to know that Indigo by Boutin is about more than textiles or clothing; it’s about honoring craftsmanship, embracing intentional creation, and celebrating cultural connection. Everything we create carries meaning, and I hope people feel that sense of artistry and warmth when they experience the brand.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
I think the most important quality behind my success has been perseverance paired with intuition. Building a brand requires a lot of patience, adaptability, and trust in your vision, especially when navigating challenges and uncertainty. I’ve learned to stay committed even during difficult moments while also listening to my instincts creatively and professionally.

Another huge part of my journey has been the ability to build genuine relationships. Whether it’s with my team in Jaipur, clients, collaborators, or community, I believe authenticity and connection are at the heart of everything I do. Those relationships have shaped the brand just as much as the designs themselves.
