Hi Raynita, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My story really began after having my son. I was experiencing burnout in a way I had never felt before. It felt like everyone needed something from me, and I didn’t know how to make time for myself. I always knew I wanted to be an entrepreneur, I’ve never been the type of person who can pretend to be comfortable in environments where I’m not being treated well. Working for myself was always a goal, even though I had no idea I would become a candle maker.
Everything shifted when I bought a candle making kit. Candle making became my escape, the one thing that helped me come back to myself when life felt overwhelming. What started as a hobby slowly turned into something deeper. My grandma was one of the first people to tell me I should turn it into more and her encouragement stayed with me.
I spent a few years studying, practicing, and learning how to truly master the craft. In Fall 2025, I joined the Black Candle Maker Club Cohort and that experience changed everything for me. I learned from other entrepreneurs, grew my skills, and was honored to be named MVP of the cohort.
After completing the program, I knew I was ready. In March 2026, I officially launched my business, Home of Rebirth, turning what once saved me into something that now supports others on their own self‑care and healing journeys.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The road definitely hasn’t been smooth. One of my biggest challenges has been staying consistent and putting the time, energy and financial investment into my business. As an entrepreneur, I’ve learned that the learning never stops. There’s always something new to figure out, improve, or grow through.
Another major challenge has been being the only person financially supporting my business. Every time you make money, you often have to put it right back into the business to keep things moving forward. It can feel like you’re constantly rebuilding, reinvesting and pushing through bumps in the road.
Even with the struggles, I’ve learned resilience, patience and how to trust the process. Every challenge has shaped me into a stronger founder and made Home of Rebirth what it is today.

Home of Rebirth is a self‑care and wellness brand built from my own journey of healing, burnout and rediscovery. I create luxury hand poured candles and intentional self‑care products designed to help people slow down, breathe and reconnect with themselves. My brand is rooted in the idea that rebirth isn’t a one time moment it’s a lifestyle, a process and a commitment to choosing yourself again and again.
I specialize in clean, luxury fragrances and intentional product experiences. Every candle is crafted with purpose, from the scent, to the names, to the way each product is meant to make you feel. I’m known for creating candles that don’t just smell good they shift the energy in a room and support emotional wellness.
What sets Home of Rebirth apart is the heart behind it. This brand was born from a real place of exhaustion, healing and transformation. I’m proud that people connect with the story just as much as the products. My customers often tell me that my candles make them feel seen, grounded, or comforted and that’s the impact I care about most.
Brand wise, I’m proud of the intentionality. The luxury aesthetic, the clean ingredients, the storytelling, the emotional connection everything is designed with care. I want readers to know that Home of Rebirth is more than a candle brand. It’s a space for healing, softness and choosing yourself. My products are created to support people through their own rebirth, one moment of self‑care at a time.
Who else deserves credit in your story?
I definitely didn’t get here alone. My grandma deserves the first credit. She was the one who encouraged me to turn my candle hobby into a real business. She stayed on me about taking my craft seriously and believing in myself and her support planted the seed for everything I’m doing today.
I also have to give a huge amount of credit to my BCMC coaches Shontelle, Jewelz and Nikki. If it wasn’t for them pushing me, challenging me and helping me think outside the box, I don’t think I would have grown the way I did. They encouraged me to build my website, to show up confidently and to stop being afraid of failing. They taught me that every fall is just another chance to get back up stronger.
Even now, they continue to support me and I’m grateful for that. The entire BCMC community has been one of the biggest blessings in my journey. They are supportive, encouraging and truly invested in seeing each other win. I am thankful for BCMC because they helped prepare me to launch Home of Rebirth and step into entrepreneurship with confidence.
