Life & Work with Holly Mason Heimer of Central Coast (California)

Today we’d like to introduce you to Holly Mason Heimer.

Hi Holly, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I first started my work in the veterinary world as a Registered Veterinary Technician. This required a move from New York to go to college in Salinas, CA to earn my AS degree in Animal Health Technology. Next, I got certified in Canine Rehabilitation, then Morphogenic Field Testing or BioField testing, and I have another certification in Applied Clinical Nutrition. Then I walked away from the veterinary world and forged my way into the world of all natural ways of supporting dogs, cats, horses and their families. I am working towards my next certification, as a Certified Canine Strength and Conditioning Coach.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I feel very fortunate as I love my work! It has not always been easy, but it has always been very rewarding increasing my client’s quality of life, and helping animals remain with their families for longer. Now I just need to get the word out!

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My first business is Whole Dog Radiance, where I help dogs, cats and their families with optimizing wellness and injury prevention. We specialize in underwater treadmill exercise, or as some like to call it, the Fountain of Youth! I have been working with dogs in the underwater treadmill for over 18 years. The treadmill is wonderful for preventing injury, exercising high-energy dogs, gait-retraining, and is very soothing to sore muscles and joints. The buoyancy of the water lifts most of the weight off our dog’s joints, which frees them up to move with grace and ease. This, along with the resistance of walking through the water, strengthens their muscles and increases their mobility. I also have a BEMER, which enhances microcirculation, a laser, which delivers heat deep into the tissues, and I offer massage, diet consultations, and provide home exercise programs for dogs.
My work also uses the BioField, or the energy field that emanates from the body, to help determine challenges to the client’s health so I can best address them. Expansion of the energy field equates to an increase in overall health, vitality, and longevity. The bigger the BioField, the better your vitality. At Whole Dog Radiance, we are looking to clear issues such as heavy metal energies, parasite energies, as well as other environmental challenges like molds, bacterial and viral energies. There is a special focus on stellar digestion, which is a foundational component of this work. The research has shown that a three-inch expansion of the BioField equates to a 1-point increase in the common objective test called Heart Rate Variability (HRV). Increased HRV means greater vitality, longevity, and autonomic nervous system efficiency. At Whole Dog Radiance, we aim to increase the BioField to increase your dog’s healing potential!
My other business is Carmel EOCreations, where I make botanical balms and blends with the world’s highest quality, 100% organic ingredients to bring people inspired, effective skin care. Each of my creations is a beautiful aromatic symphony, that brings balance, harmony and healing. The rose oil comes from the Valley of Roses in Bulgaria, where they have been distilling the finest quality rose oil for over 400 years, with time honored traditions. I had to search for a long time to find Rosewood oil that is ethically sourced. Rosewood is now critically endangered, and the logging of Rosewood trees for production of Rosewood Essential Oil is a strong contributor to the species’ decline. Sustainability is a key value in everything I do, so it is important to me to only support businesses that trim the branches rather than taking the whole tree down. These balms are perfect for topical use and can also be applied to the liver or over the heart for even deeper healing. At Carmel EOCreations, the oils are sourced from all over the world and I’m proud to support women-owned companies for all of the fair-trade shea butter I use. I also make custom skin care blends for people who want to have radiant skin.

What were you like growing up?
I have always loved kids, animals, and reading books. As the youngest of 7 kids, by the time I came along I was allowed to be a totally free spirit. My only worry was trying to decide if I wanted to work with animals, or people. Both is the perfect answer for me!
