Today we’d like to introduce you to Kameron Jones.
Hi Kameron, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I think my story is really about figuring things out as I go and being willing to take opportunities even when I didn’t necessarily know where God was going to lead me.
I was born and raised in Southeast San Diego, and I’ve always had a creative side to me. Photography and videography eventually became the main ways I found myself expressing that. I liked being able to capture a moment and make someone else feel what I felt when I was there. As I started taking it more seriously, that eventually became Kapturre, my creative brand centered around photography, videography, and visual storytelling.
A big part of my growth also happened at Grossmont College. When I first started college, I definitely didn’t see myself becoming a student leader, especially not President of the Associated Students. I really just started getting involved, meeting people, and saying yes to opportunities. One thing led to another, and suddenly I was in rooms and positions that pushed me way outside of my comfort zone. That experience helped me become more confident in myself and taught me a lot about leadership, people, and what I’m capable of.
My path hasn’t exactly been a straight line. I’ve changed my mind, tried different things, had things not work out, and had moments where I questioned what I was supposed to be doing. But looking back, I can see how a lot of those experiences shaped me and brought me to where I am now. I’ve learned that I don’t need to have every step planned out. Sometimes I just have to trust God, keep moving, and be open to where He takes me.
Right now, I’m continuing to grow Kapturre, get better at my craft, and take on opportunities that allow me to create and tell stories. I’m still figuring out exactly where God is leading me, but I’m grateful for how far He’s already brought me and excited to see what’s next.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. I’ve had a lot of moments where I’ve doubted myself or felt like I was behind compared to everyone else. College especially hasn’t gone exactly how I thought it would, but funny enough, some of my biggest opportunities came from that time. I’ve learned to stop putting so much pressure on myself to have everything figured out and trust God with where I’m going.

Kapturre is really my way of telling stories through photography and videography. There’s so much culture, so many different lives, and so many stories around us that deserve to be seen. I don’t just want to make something that looks good, I want people to actually feel something when they see my work. Every project gives me the chance to step into someone else’s world and tell their story through my eyes, and I think that’s what I love most about creating. Being able to take a moment in someone’s life and turn it into something they can hold onto forever is what Kapturre is all about.
Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
The Bible is probably the biggest one for me. My faith keeps me grounded and reminds me that there’s a bigger purpose behind what I’m doing, especially when I start overthinking where I’m at in life. Outside of that, a lot of my inspiration honestly comes from just seeing what other people create. I can scroll through Instagram, watch a movie, hear a song, or even just be out somewhere and see something that gives me an idea. I try to pull inspiration from everywhere.
