Meet Alexis Biddle of Central Coast (California)

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexis Biddle.

Hi Alexis, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My name is Alexis, but feel free to call me Lexi! I am 22 years old, born and raised in Southern California. I began my journey in photography back in 2016, when I took a little photography course in school. It pretty much ended there until 2021, when I picked up a camera again, and it changed my life. I found my passion for capturing beautiful connections – whether it be between my subject and I, or two people with a story to tell, I found grace in every small moment. You can find my heart full of love with dedication to my wonderful husband Clayton, my two spunky dogs, Ophelia and Apollo, as well as my zoo of cats that you’ll find in any sunny window at all hours. I wouldn’t be here today without the support of my amazing friends and family who supported me at every turn – and did any vision I had for a photoshoot.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I believe photography will always be subjective. Every person has a unique style of editing or even taking the photos has a style that’s specific to each person. I think the biggest struggle we face in this industry is comparing every single photo to other photographers styles, as well as competing in a very flooded industry. But in that same regard I think it’s beautiful to constantly evolve and grow and delve into others unique styles, and despite us being competitive of course – photographers are the kindest group of individuals focused on growing creatively and helping each other along the way. So as far as “bumps in the road,” I would say it’s of course competing for clients attention, but mostly just finding what makes you unique.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Photography has always been more than just taking pictures for me—it’s about preserving the moments that matter most. Through Angelfish Photography, I specialize in weddings, elopements, couples, and family photography, focusing on capturing genuine emotions and authentic connections. My goal is to create images that not only look beautiful but also tell a story and bring people back to exactly how they felt in that moment.

What I’m most proud of is the trust my clients place in me during some of the most important days of their lives. Whether it’s a wedding day, an engagement, or a growing family, being invited into those moments is something I never take for granted. Knowing that the photographs I create will become treasured memories for generations is incredibly rewarding.

What sets me apart is the way I connect with people. I genuinely care about getting to know my clients and making them feel comfortable in front of the camera. I don’t believe the best photos come from stiff poses—they come from real laughter, real emotion, and real connection. My style is cinematic, romantic, and candid, blending natural moments with gentle guidance to create images that feel timeless and true to who my clients are.

As someone with a background in acting, modeling, and storytelling, I bring a unique perspective to every session. I understand how to help people feel confident, relaxed, and fully present, allowing me to capture the moments that often go unnoticed but mean the most. At the end of the day, my passion is creating photographs that tell a story worth remembering long after the moment has passed.

Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
When I am not behind a camera, you can find me hard at work editing your galleries or continuing to grow my family’s numerous companies. I can’t say you will ever find me with nothing to do, but I tend to love it that way. In the quiet moments, I enjoy listening to my audiobooks or traveling across the world with my best friend and husband, Clayton.  My passion for traveling has only grown over the last few years, which has led us to buy a quiet home in Kokomo, Indiana! Yes… the place from that Beach Boys song – surprise! Not a tropical island, but still absolutely stunning in its own ways.

I am probably the most extroverted person you’ll ever meet, so if you are worried about getting your photos taken… I’ll have you laughing in 15 minutes guaranteed! My love of traveling has allowed me to find some amazing photo opportunities all over the United States, and I am ALWAYS up for a road trip – so don’t hesitate to ask if I will drive to your state for some fun photos, or a gorgeous hike! Anyhoo, I hope that you getting to know me a little makes you feel that much more comfortable with checking out my website: angelfishphotography.com or my Instagram @alexis.angelfishphotography, I can’t wait to meet you!
