Today we’d like to introduce you to Forever Stoked.
Hi Forever, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Artist founders Charlie Clingman and Chris Pedersen met in Mexico on a surf trip when they were 15 years old. Art and surfing had kept the two friends close…in 1998 they started Forever Stoked. From original oil paintings and giclees to greeting cards and stickers, Forever Stoked has art for any budget. After selling work through various galleries and shops, Charlie and Chris decided to open their own gallery in 2011. This spacious industrial style gallery is the perfect space for showcasing their art as well as other amazing artists. With art show openings every few months, paintings are constantly rotated. We invite you to come explore and enjoy this fabulous space created by two friends who share a love of art, surfing, and nature.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has been an interesting and fun journey. From humble beginnings, to owning our own art gallery. We started by driving up and down the California coast selling greeting cards to all the surf shops. We slept in our cars and surfed along the way. Soon, we had nearly 100 businesses selling our product. Eventually we began to focus on selling our original paintings, limited edition prints, and other merchandise.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Our paintings are inspired by nature and our surfing adventures. Most of our pieces are oil or acrylic on canvas. We are known for our imaginative and creative approach, often leaning towards a more surreal experience. Its a very rewarding feeling to complete a painting and see the joy it brings to the viewer. The way we see nature and interpret it in our paintings sets us apart from many of the more traditional artists.
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
Our favorite childhood memories are riding horses and getting tossed around by the surf.
