Today we’d like to introduce you to Hannah Locsin.
Hi Hannah, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started my business during Covid season when my hours at my job got cut short. At first, I was deeply fascinated by the product and made it for my close family and then after hearing how the product was beneficial for them, I started posting about it on social media. Organically people wanted me to drop them off a jar.
My dad inspired me to make a business out of it since he is also an entrepreneur.
I enjoyed the process of making flyers and developing the product, but it took a lot of time to turn this into an actual business.
I had to work extra jobs to be able to pay for the cost to start a business, but around here four I realize this could really takeoff if I gave up my all. I truly believe I was surrounded by the right people all along to start this business. I was specifically very inspired by my family and my jiujitsu community. I was pursuing jujutsu and that translated into my effort in pursuing my business. Hard work is hard work. I always had teammates working hard for the fight goals so I allowed them to inspire me to give me all to my business.
It did not start off easy. It was basically just an expensive hobby. However, overtime and with people close to me, sharing the benefit benefits I gave my all and that’s how I have this business today.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I’ve had multiple emotional meltdowns because it was always new and the first time facing problems like this. The most important part for me was having the right people to go to when I was struggling. Multiple business owners inspired me and told me that you just have to persevere and trust the process. My customer’s testimonials of how he has helped them is also a motivated me to push through the obstacles. I’ve wanted to quit many times.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
I love jiujitsu. The days that I’m not working sea moss I’m on the mat. I’ve quit hourly jobs to train more which ironically worked in my favor because the communities I was part of supported my business. To this day I prioritize both Sea Moss and my Jiujitsu career.
