Hi Jeeti, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I started Glam Tans By Jeeti when my son was 4 years old and heading to pre-school. At the time, I had been a stay-at-home-Mom for about 8 years. I left my high stress corporate accounting job in the tech world behind to raise my kids and never looked back. With my youngest heading to school, I knew I wanted to go back to work but not what I was doing before. Between the commute, long hours and very little impact, it was not what I desired. I wanted to do something where I got to help people, connect with other women and help brighten someone’s day.
As I was pondering what to do, I was on a trip to Vegas when I used a “tan in a can”, airbrush legs bronzer. The nozzle was faulty and completely erupted, all over my dress. I thought to myself, “There has to be a better way.” That is how I discovered the world of sunless tanning.
I got an airbrush spray tan and could not believe how great I felt! I realized this was it. This feeling is what I wanted to provide to other women like me, especially moms.
I started learning all that I could about airbrush spray tanning and opened in 2022 in my garage. I slowly built up my clientele and opened a brick-and-mortar location in downtown Morgan Hill in the fall of 2024. I hired my first employee in 2025 and then a second. Now in 2026 we have a team of 4 amazing girls and myself!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has been a wild and bumpy ride! Though I knew the basics of business, running everything and being responsible for everything was a different thing. I immersed myself in learning everything about the science of spray tanning and how it interacts with your skin. I dove in and learned about various skin conditions and what impacts spray tanning could have. I wanted to be the subject matter expert in my field. My goal has always been the same since the beginning. I want every woman who comes in for a spray tan to leave feeling more confident and happy with the beauty service we provide. In the beginning, when things would go awry, I would obsess over why someone’s tan didn’t come out the way it should have. Nothing teaches you like hands-on experience.
Opening up the downtown location had its own struggles. With the charm of a historic building comes the old wiring. I remember blowing a fuse while literally in the middle of an appointment. Thankfully we were able to resolve it quickly and our client was super understanding.
As you know, we’re big fans of Glam Tans by Jeeti, LLC. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
We provide spray tanning, teeth whitening and red light therapy. We spray by hand, completely custom to each individual’s needs. I personally train each and every staff member so that they are knowledgeable and able to determine how to provide the best look for each client. Each body type is different. Each skin tone and undertone is different. And how one’s skin interacts with the spray tan solution is going to be different.
We are known for providing a natural looking spray tan. It’s never fake and orange looking. We take pride in our work and truly care about each of our clients. We value our connection and we love our community. We send follow-ups the next day to see how clients are liking the results. And if there’s an issue, we invite them to come back in and let us fix it. Our clients are not just an appointment time to us. We are building a community and we love to be a part of theirs.
Being a person of color myself, I understand that not all clients want to achieve the same thing. Some clients want to achieve a dark, rich tan. And some clients don’t necessarily want to get darker, but rather, even out their skin tone. I have taken the time to learn and really educate myself on how to provide those results for all skin tones. I wish everyone knew that spray tanning is for everyone!
We don’t take a one-size-fits-all approach. Each client is unique. We tailor our service to those unique needs. That is why we are a popular choice among brides, competition dance/cheer teams in addition to the average person looking to get a natural looking tan. We are educated and specifically trained.
The thing I am most proud of is how much support I have received in my community for my business. This has allowed me to now employ a team of amazing women who rely on me to help put food on their table. We are 100% woman owned, funded and employed. How cool is that?!
Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
All of my favorite childhood memories include me dancing or singing along to music with my family and friends. Clients are not surprised to find us dancing or singing along to tunes when they walk in, haha!
