Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Lynn.
Hi Jessica, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I began my esthetics career at age 32 when I enrolled in the esthetics program in Santa Barbara, California. After becoming a licensed Esthetician in 2017, I spent the first three years of my career working in the industry, gaining hands-on experience and building my skills. From there, I transitioned into renting my own space, which gave me the opportunity to grow my clientele and begin creating a business of my own.
Along the way, I quickly discovered a natural passion and specialty in Brazilian waxing. As I refined my technique and built meaningful relationships with my clients, I realized I wanted to create an experience centered on personalized care, comfort and confidence. That vision became Central Coast Waxing, where I provide Brazilian waxing services and one on one Brazilian waxing education for estheticians looking to strengthen their skills.
As Central Coast Waxing continued to grow, I recognized an opportunity to support more than just my clients. I wanted to help other beauty professionals build businesses of their own. That vision led to the creation of Central Coast Esthetics, a professional space designed to provide beauty professionals with the environment, resources, and community they need to grow, connect with clients and pursue success independently.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road. One of the biggest challenges has been the financial side of owning a business, especially the cost of remodeling and creating a space that felt like my own. Relocating was another big challenge because there’s always that worry about whether your clients will follow you and having to build yourself back up in a new location.
Retaining clients and continuing to grow while going through those changes hasn’t always been easy, but it’s taught me to trust the process, stay consistent, and keep going even when things feel uncertain. Looking back, those challenges have made me appreciate where I am today even more.

Central Coast Waxing specializes in Brazilian waxing, with a focus on making every client feel comfortable, welcomed, and completely judgment-free. I know Brazilian waxing can feel intimidating or vulnerable, especially for someone coming in for the first time, so creating a safe and relaxed environment has always been really important to me.
What I’m most proud of are the relationships I’ve built with my clients. An appointment is more than just a wax—my clients know they can come in, be themselves, talk, vent, laugh, or simply relax without ever feeling judged. I also bring humor and a little bit of randomness into my appointments, which I think helps take away some of the awkwardness and makes the experience feel more personal and fun.
While Brazilian waxing is my specialty, I also offer other esthetic services including body waxing, lash lifts, and spray tanning. I also offer one-on-one Brazilian wax education for estheticians, where I’m able to share the techniques and experience I’ve gained over the years.
I want my clients to feel like they’re coming to see someone they know and trust, not just coming in for an appointment. We laugh, we talk about life, and there’s never any judgment.
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
I define success as achieving the goals you set for yourself while continuing to grow along the way. For me, it means even more because I feel like I started with very little, and being able to look back at where I started compared to where I am today is something I’m really proud of.
Success to me isn’t only about how much money you make or how big your business becomes. It’s having clients who continue to support me and choose my business year after year, and knowing that I’ve built those relationships along the way.
It’s also the freedom that owning my own business gives me. As a mom, being able to build my schedule around my kids and be there for the important things means a lot to me. I think success looks different for everyone, and for me it’s having a business I’m proud of, the continued support of my clients, the freedom to be present for my family, and still having goals I’m excited to work toward.
