Today we’d like to introduce you to Jillian Duccini.
Hi Jillian, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’ve had a passion for homes and design my entire life and always knew I wanted to do something in the industry. When I was in high school, I discovered interior design, and from that point on, I had my sights set on it.
I’ve also always had a strong entrepreneurial mindset, and I knew that if I was going to pursue this career, I ultimately wanted to do it for myself rather than work for someone else. So I took a leap of faith and opened Jillian Duccini Interiors. Since then, it’s been incredibly exciting to watch the business grow and see something I had envisioned for so long become a reality.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t always been a smooth road. Starting a business comes with a lot of uncertainty, and in the beginning I was learning how to manage every part of the business while also trying to grow it at the same time.
One of the biggest challenges has been learning to trust myself and my decisions. There are always moments where you question whether you’re making the right move, but I’ve learned that a lot of growth comes from taking risks, figuring things out as you go, and being willing to adjust along the way.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m known for warm, textured interiors that feel organic and natural while still being elevated and luxurious. I love working with natural materials, layered textures, and timeless finishes to create spaces that feel beautiful, comfortable, and livable.
One thing that was really important to me when starting Jillian Duccini Interiors was creating different levels of service so clients could still have access to thoughtful, high-end design at different price points.
Our Full Service Design includes everything from the initial concept and sourcing to project management and installation. We also offer Design Development, which provides the same level of design direction at a more approachable price point, without full onsite project management. Instead, we stay involved remotely, coordinate with contractors, and make sure the design is being carried through correctly throughout the project.
I think what sets us apart is that we’re able to offer that flexibility without sacrificing the quality of the design. I’m most proud of creating a business that allows more people to experience a truly thoughtful and elevated design process.
Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
I haven’t had a formal mentor, so a lot of my experience has come from learning as I go and building relationships with people in the industry. I think networking works best when it happens naturally rather than feeling transactional. Reaching out, asking questions, supporting other people’s work, and simply putting yourself in rooms with people you can learn from can go a long way.
My biggest advice would be not to be afraid to introduce yourself or start a conversation. You never really know which relationship or connection may turn into an opportunity down the road.
