Today we’d like to introduce you to Keshet Lavoux.
Hi Keshet, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Creativity has been part of my story for as long as I can remember. As a child, I spent countless hours crafting alongside my mom and grandmother, flipping through craft books and dreaming up colorful projects. That love of creating never left me—it simply took a different path for a while.
As a mother of two children and dog mom to Remington and Matcha, I began creating themed birthday parties, hosting creative gatherings, and teaching children’s art workshops. What started as small art experiences in my home grew into art kits for families during COVID, community classes in churches and local businesses, and summer camps at my home, eventually to the opening of Keshet Lavoux Art Studio. The business has grown into offering large curated art enrichment programs for the schools, large art classes of 150 people and more. We also curate art experiences for businesses during the holidays and for special events as well as corporate events.
Today, my mission is simple: to create joyful, memorable experiences where people can gather, create, connect, and celebrate. Whether it’s a birthday party, family gathering, corporate event, school program, or special celebration, I believe creativity brings people together in a way that few things can.
I love designing thoughtful experiences that encourage play, spark imagination, and leave guests with both beautiful artwork and lasting memories. Seeing someone discover their creativity—whether they’re five years old or fifty-five—is still my favorite part of what I do.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
In the early days, I began by hosting summer art camps for children out of my garage—a simple but meaningful way to serve families and bring creativity into the community. As the programs grew, so did the need for structure and flexibility. During the COVID period, changing regulations required a fast pivot, and I transitioned our camps into shared spaces at local churches.
While I was grateful for the opportunity to continue serving families, working in shared environments also made it clear that long-term growth would require a dedicated creative space where both the experience and artistic environment could fully align with the vision I had for the studio.
As the business continued to expand, another ongoing challenge has been building the right team—finding individuals who not only bring talent and reliability, but who also deeply connect with the mission and passion behind the work. I’ve been intentional about hand-selecting a team that reflects those values, and I’m incredibly proud of the people I get to work alongside today.
Each challenge has ultimately strengthened the foundation of the business, shaped its direction, and clarified what matters most: creating meaningful, high-quality creative experiences that serve others well.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
My name is Keshet, and I am a wife, mom, dog mom, artist, and entrepreneur. To understand my current role as the Lead Artist and Founder of Keshet Lavoux Art Studio, it helps to look back at where my journey began.
I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Development and Psychology from Cal Poly University. My original goal was to become an elementary school teacher because I have always loved working with children and helping them learn and grow.
After college, my career took an unexpected turn into recruiting and human resources. I began as a Junior Recruiter for software companies and eventually advanced to a Lead Recruiter within the financial services industry. While I enjoyed helping people find opportunities, I still felt a strong pull toward creativity and entrepreneurship.
When I became a mother, I shifted my focus to raising my children and spent time as a part-time homeschool teacher. Being home with my family was incredibly rewarding, but the entrepreneurial spark inside me never faded. I slowly began hosting art workshops and birthday parties for friends and family, combining my passion for creativity with my love of bringing people together.
What started as a small creative outlet has grown into a thriving business. For the past six years, Keshet Lavoux Art Studio has hosted children’s summer camps, after-school art programs, birthday parties, pop-up painting and craft events, holiday experiences for companies, art enrichment programs at elementary schools, family paint nights, large-scale school paint events, and team-building experiences for schools and corporations. We have also expanded into curated creative experiences for the events industry, collaborative community events, private celebrations, and custom art experiences.
One of the most rewarding parts of my work is teaching large-scale paint events for elementary school students. Knowing that some schools no longer offer art classes makes these experiences even more meaningful. Being able to spark creativity, confidence, and joy in children fills my heart. Watching students discover their artistic abilities and express themselves through art is truly one of the greatest gifts of my career.
I also love designing meaningful creative experiences for adults, families, and companies. Whether it’s a birthday celebration, a corporate team-building event, or a community gathering, I believe there is something powerful about creating together. Art has a unique way of connecting people, encouraging collaboration, and creating lasting memories.
As for what sets me apart, I’m not entirely sure. What I do know is that I pour my heart into every event, workshop, and experience I create. This work is more than a business—it’s my passion and my calling. I genuinely love working with people, fostering creativity, and sharing the joy of art and crafting with others. Helping people connect, create, and celebrate through art is what inspires me every day.
Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
One of the things I am most proud of is the incredible team that has grown alongside Keshet Lavoux Art Studio. As the business expanded over the past several years, I realized I could no longer do it all alone. I carefully hand-selected a team of talented, caring individuals who share my passion for creativity, community, and serving others. Their dedication, enthusiasm, and heart are a huge part of what makes our events and programs so special, and I am grateful for each and every one of them.
I am also excited to share that we will soon be launching The Creative Sparkle, a boutique curated event experience company designed to bring unique, creative, and memorable experiences to individuals, families, event venues, corporate events, wedding venues, and more. We can’t wait to introduce this new chapter and continue helping people connect through creativity and celebration.
The Creative Sparkle will proudly serve communities throughout San Luis Obispo County, Solvang, Santa Barbara, Thousand Oaks, and the San Jose area.
The future is bright, and we’re just getting started.
