Meet Luis Witrago of Witrago Painting LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Luis Witrago.

Hi Luis, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I grew up in the Central Coast, and my journey to becoming a business owner wasn’t a straight path. Like many people, I made some poor decisions when I was younger and had to learn some difficult life lessons, There was a point where I had to make a choice about the direction I wanted my life to take, and I committed to rebuilding it from the ground up.

I found that opportunity in the painting industry. What started as a job quickly became a craft I genuinely enjoyed. I worked hard, learned every aspect of the trade, and eventually moved into project management before deciding to start Witrago Painting LLC.

Today, I’m grateful to lead a growing company that serves homeowners and businesses throughout the Central Coast. More importantly, I’m grateful to be a husband, a father, and someone my family can depend on. Those early challenges taught me the value of integrity, accountability, and doing what you say you’re going to do. Values that have become the foundation of both my personal life and my business.

I hope my story reminds people that your past doesn’t have to define your future. No matter where you’ve been or what mistakes you’ve made, its possible to build a life and a career you’re genuinely proud of through hard work, perseverance, and a commitment to be a better person every day.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Starting a business has definitely come with its challenges. I quickly realized that knowing how to paint and knowing how to run a company are two very different skill sets. Beyond delivering quality work, I had to learn estimating, accounting, marketing, licensing, insurance, scheduling, and everything else that comes with owning a business.

In the beginning, I wore every hat. I was meeting customers, writing estimates, ordering materials, working on the job site, answering phone calls, and handling paperwork after hours. There were plenty of long days and a lot of trial and error.

One of the biggest lessons has been understanding that your reputation is your most valuable asset. Every project is an opportunity to earn someone’s trust, and that trust is what has allowed Witrago Painting to continue growing through referrals and repeat customers. The challenges have made me a better business owner and reinforced the importance of doing things the right way, even when no one is watching.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Witrago Painting LLC?
Witrago Painting LLC is a residential and commercial painting company proudly serving the Central Coast. We specialize in interior and exterior painting, cabinet refinishing, and protective coatings. While we offer a wide range of services, our focus has always been on delivering exceptional craftsmanship and an experience that homeowners genuinely enjoy from start to finish.

One thing that sets us apart is our attention to detail and the amount of time we invest before a brush ever touches the surface. Proper preparation is the foundation of a long-lasting finish, and we don’t believe in cutting corners to save time. Every project is approached with the mindset that we’re protecting our clients’ investment, not just changing the color of their home.

I’m also proud of the relationships we’ve built with our customers. A large portion of our work comes from repeat clients and referrals, which tells me we’re doing something right. We believe communication, reliability, and showing up when we say we will are just as important as the quality of the finished product.

At the end of the day, I don’t want Witrago Painting to simply be known as another painting company. I want us to be known as professionals people can trust to care for their homes as if it were our own.

Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
I’m incredibly grateful for everyone who has believed in me throughout this journey. My family, my team, my customers, and the people who gave me opportunities when I was rebuilding my life. None of us succeed alone.

If my story encourages even one person to keep moving forward despite setbacks, then sharing it was worth it. I’m excited for what’s ahead, and I’m committed to continuing to build a company that reflects the values of hard work, integrity, and genuine care for the people we serve.
