Today we’d like to introduce you to Samantha Enciso.
Hi Samantha, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started loving nails at a very young age. My love for nails was always the painting part of it. I love drawing and painting and that’s how it all began.
Since I can remember I would paint on my cousins nails as a little girl. I would also paint on my friends nails in middle school during lunch time or after school. After high school i became a mom and dedicated everything to my baby. It truly was the biggest blessing I had and pushed me to strive for more.
After some time I tried multiple jobs but none of them made me happy. It was the complete opposite. I couldn’t see myself long term in any of the jobs I had tried out.
At that time in my life I kept on brainstorming what I wanted for myself and for my future. I was really interested in just nails and I wanted to give it a try. I signed myself up for beauty school and it all started in 2015.
After graduating and getting my license , I started working in a salon in Paso Robles. I eventually worked in San Luis Obispo aswell. I dedicated my life to be a full time nail tech and I wouldn’t change that at all. Fast forward to now, I have my own nail space called Cielo Nail Studio. I work alongside another talented nail tech named Monica Lechuga.
Im happy to be able to provide a creative and safe space for our clients in little Paso Robles.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth ride lol. Theres been many obstacles and struggles in my nail tech journey. COVID-19 was a weird time to be working in the beauty industry since we see so many people daily. Besides that , there was a lot of restrictions with us working. I think having your own business can overall be bitter sweet since you’re the main person with the vision and putting in lots of work. I don’t think it will ever be smooth but it’s very rewarding.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a nail tech and I specialize in acrylic nails. I think my detail with nail art is what sets me apart from others. I love challenging my skills in such a tiny canvas. I’m really proud of myself & how far I’ve came in my nail journey. I really believed in myself and stayed consistent with my goals. I knew coming into this career it would be hard and stressful at times but that didn’t stop me. I’m also really proud of the example I’ve set for my kids and family.
Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
I think there’s an endless amount of places to network through social media. There’s so many talented artists in the nail community that are willing to help and educate. I’ve taken different nail classes in different cities that have helped my technique; that’s something I’d highly recommend doing.
