Meet Tony Metric of Central Coast (California)

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tony Metric.

Hi Tony, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
It all started when I was 8 years old, when I first heard DJ mixes on the radio. That’s when I fell in love with electronic music. Later, during my teenage years, I learned how to DJ, and in my 20s I started making my first mashups. Then, in 2020, during the pandemic, I enrolled in several online music production schools based in Spain, Argentina, and Mexico. That’s when I started releasing my first tracks. A year later, in 2021, I already had releases on several record labels, with support from some major names in the industry, including Bob Sinclar, Hard Rock Sofa, MOTi, Chelina Manuhutu, and more.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
One of the challenges I faced was learning and mastering new styles of music. Once I became comfortable with different sounds and techniques, my strongest styles became Latin House, House, and Tech House, but I also explored Afro House and Minimal Bass.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Currently, I offer mixing and mastering services to artists around the world. At first, I only did it for my own music, but eventually, artists started reaching out to me for those services, so I thought, why not? I’m really proud that people appreciate the quality of my work. I also always try to make sure my productions have my own signature sound and style.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I’d say luck plays about a 50% role. Sometimes you never know which track is going to be the next big hit, but at the same time, I’ve spent years refining my sound and constantly improving my craft to get to that point. I feel like success is really a combination of hard work, consistency, and a little bit of luck.
