Meet Victoria Synn of Central Coast (California)

Today we’d like to introduce you to Victoria Synn.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
If you had told 18 year old me that one day I’d build a career doing what I love, I never would have believed you.

I’ve been in the beauty industry for over a decade, and I truly grew up in this profession. I was fortunate to begin my career surrounded by incredibly talented stylists and mentors who challenged me, believed in me, and helped shape the stylist I am today. Working alongside women who constantly pushed me to become better taught me that success is never a solo journey.

As my passion for education grew, I had the opportunity to become an educator for UNITE , a global professional haircare brand based in San Diego. That role allowed me to travel, teach other stylists, demonstrate products and techniques, and continue expanding my own knowledge. Throughout my career, I’ve invested in advanced education in lived-in color, balayage, blonding, extensions, and business development because I believe our industry is always evolving, and we should be too.

Looking back, every salon I’ve worked in, every class I’ve attended, every mentor I’ve learned from, and every client who’s trusted me has shaped the stylist and business owner I am today. Those experiences taught me that great hair is important, but creating genuine relationships and helping people feel confident is what has made this career so meaningful to me.

Today, owning my own business is something I never take for granted. It’s the result of years of learning, growing, and saying yes to opportunities that pushed me outside of my comfort zone. I’m incredibly grateful for the journey, and I’m even more excited about where it’s leading next.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but I wouldn’t change it because every challenge has taught me something valuable.

Like many entrepreneurs, I’ve experienced self-doubt, financial uncertainty, and the pressure of building a business from the ground up. There have been seasons where I questioned myself, struggled to find balance between work and family, and felt the weight of wanting to give my clients my very best while continuing to grow professionally.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that success isn’t about avoiding mistakes it’s about being willing to learn from them. Every challenge, every difficult conversation, and every setback has helped me become a better stylist, business owner, and person.

I’ve learned that resilience, consistency, and genuinely caring about the people you serve will always take you further than chasing perfection. Looking back, the difficult seasons were often the ones that shaped me the most, and today I’m grateful for every one of them.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a hairstylist specializing in luxury color, lived-in blondes and brunettes, hair extensions, and creating healthy, beautiful hair that lasts. While I love creating transformations, my biggest priority is always protecting the integrity of my clients’ hair.

What I’m most proud of is the experience I provide. I believe every client deserves to feel heard, understood, and confident before we ever begin the service. I take the time to understand their goals, lifestyle, and maintenance routine so we can create a look that not only fits them but also keeps their hair healthy over time.

I think what truly sets me apart is my commitment to education. Throughout my career, I’ve continuously invested in advanced training because I believe our industry is always evolving. One of my proudest accomplishments was completing an intensive course at the Vidal Sassoon Academy in Chicago. An experience that challenged me creatively and strengthened the technical foundation I bring to every client. I’ve continued my education in color, balayage, blonding, extensions, and business development because I believe learning never stops.

More than anything, I want every person who sits in my chair to leave feeling more confident than when they walked in. I believe healthy hair is the new luxury, and my goal is to create results that look just as beautiful months later as they do the day my clients leave my chair.

Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
I’m a big believer that personal growth and professional growth go hand in hand. Some of my favorite Podcasts are Mel Robbins, Jay Shetty, Big Deal , and the Earn Your Money podcast with Lori Harder. I love listening to conversations about mindset, leadership, confidence, and building a meaningful life and business.

I’m always looking for books, podcasts, and educational opportunities that help me evolve mentally, physically, financially, and spiritually. I believe that the more I invest in becoming the best version of myself, the more I can show up for my family, my clients, and my business.

One thing I’ve learned is that success isn’t just about becoming a better hairstylist…it’s about becoming a better person. That’s something I’m committed to every single day
