Today we’d like to introduce you to Aqueena Render.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Growing up, I was always intrigued by cartoon characters, dance, and media as a whole. I was very active in dance & gymnastics as a child into my late 20s, where I became a dance movement therapist & counselor. In college & into my career, I discovered that I had a knack for storytelling and using movement, dance, and the arts to help get peoples stories out there, whether as a therapist or in the community. When I went to California for work in 2019, I started working in a pharmaceutical company and became a Learning & Development Specialist, where I had to create training materials and conduct various learning sessions to help employees learn their jobs better. It was then, I was exposed heavily to instructional design and using that medium to continue to create ways for people to learn through storytelling and script writing. I learned their Ai tools and became fascinated with using these tools to increase productivity and creativity faster and wholly to meet the needs of stakeholders. When my job concluded during restructuring in 2024, I decided to start my own business to support businesses in learning & development needs by creating trainings, working on social media projects, and just helping the everyday person build their confidence in using Ai tools to build their brands.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Around 2018, I was married and my ex-husband and I became homeless for almost 2 years. It was a challenging experience emotionally, psychologically, & physically. A few years later, in mid-2024 we were divorced and I had to start life all over again. I had been through a loss of job, marriage, and a home again all in 1 year. But, ending that relationship was the best thing for me because I had lost who I was trying to build something with the wrong person. Since then, I had reconciled with my biological family, chosen family, and certain friends who walked me through the process of healing, reconciliation, and wholeness. I also went to therapy and got the understanding of the root causes of some of my relational challenges and got a renewed faith in God. In September of 2025, I was admitted into the hospital for blood clots in the lungs. After they were removed, I was sent to a specialist for gyne-oncology because I had fibroid tumors that took over my reproductive system where it affected my heart, liver, and lungs. In preparation for a hysterectomy, it was discovered that I had phase 1 Thymoma cancer in my Thymus. Therefore, in April 2026, I received a hysterectomy and 2 months later, I received a Thymectomy.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
In 2024, I decided to start my own business to support businesses in learning & development needs by creating trainings, working on projects, and just helping the everyday person build their confidence in using Ai tools to build their brands. Currently, through all this, I have decided to live my life and pursue some of the things I have always wanted. I have a music album coming out September 17th 2026 called “Come Together”, will stream on various distribution outlets. Also, I have been working on building out a vertical film called “The Cyborg Queen Universe” on Instagram, Tiktok, and YouTube. I am very excited about this type of accidental superhero story & how far I can take the characters in exploring themes of healing, evolution, and not allowing our circumstances keep us from making a difference in the world.
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
My favorite childhood memory was watching the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and the Power Rangers.
