Rising Stars: Meet Jaime Schultz of Central Coast (California)

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jaime Schultz.

Hi Jaime, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I first experienced chiropractic care in college. I had hurt my back playing high school sports and never really thought much of it—until I reached a point where I couldn’t sit still in class and was even having difficulty breathing. My boyfriend at the time (who is now my husband) suggested I see a chiropractor. It turned out the injury from high school was more significant than I realized. With the care and guidance of my chiropractor, I was able to recover and ended up feeling better than I had in years.
That experience changed everything for me. I realized I wanted to help other people the same way I had been helped. After graduating from Cal Poly, I took a job as a front desk assistant in a chiropractic office so I could see how a practice actually worked. A few months later I headed off to chiropractic college. It was a lot of hard work, but it paid off—I graduated as salutatorian.
After graduation I purchased a practice and opened my first office in 2005. In 2010 I moved to my current location. Along the way I continued learning, becoming a Certified Chiropractic Sports Practitioner (CCSP) and training in muscle testing, which I now use for the nutritional side of my work. I fell in love with this profession while I was still in school, and that passion has only grown with every day in practice. I feel truly blessed that I get to do something I love every single day.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road. How could it be?
One of the first challenges was taking over an existing practice. Patients build trust with a specific person, not just the profession, so earning that trust took time and consistency.
Then in 2006 I had my first son (and later a second), and the reality of running a business while being a wife and mother hit hard. I eventually developed severe adrenal exhaustion. It forced me to slow down and find a new way to work. That’s when I began studying muscle testing with a strong nutrition focus. I added it as a service in the office, and it has become a meaningful way I help people with nutrition challenges, food sensitivities, and simply feeling healthier every day.
I also made a deliberate choice to work only three days a week. It allows me to be present for my children and protects my own body so I can keep doing this work for the long term.
2020 was another defining stretch. As a health practitioner, I stayed focused on helping people support their immune systems and keep their bodies functioning as optimally as possible. While many offices closed, we remained open. I believe that was possible because of our core philosophy: supporting the body’s natural ability to heal.
Those challenges shaped both how I practice and how I live. They reminded me that adaptability and self-care aren’t optional—they’re essential.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I love working with families and athletes. Most of my patients now come through referrals, which I take as a reflection of the quality of care I strive to provide.
What matters most to me is personalizing every visit. Rather than fitting someone into a single technique, I adapt my approach to the individual in front of me. As a chiropractor, I’m able to focus on the structural aspects of care while also providing nutrition support through muscle testing and targeted supplements. I also show patients specific stretches and exercises so they can continue improving between visits and get better more quickly. This combination lets me address both how the body moves and functions and the foundational nutrition it needs to heal and thrive. I am also a Certified Chiropractic Sports Practitioner, which deepens the work I do with athletes.
I especially enjoy seeing children for nutrition support, particularly around food sensitivities and skin issues like eczema that often stem from a disrupted digestive system. My philosophy is simple: lasting health needs a holistic approach. Chiropractic care helps the body move and function properly, while solid nutrition—supported by the right supplements—builds the strong foundation it needs to thrive.
What I’m most proud of is the trust patients place in me and the results we create together—whether that’s an athlete performing at a higher level, a parent feeling better, or a child whose skin and digestion finally calm down. That personalized, whole-person care is what sets my practice apart.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
From the very beginning, it has always been my husband, Chris. He was the one who first suggested I see a chiropractor when I was struggling in college. Since then he has supported me through the endless classes, the decision to start and then purchase a practice, and every challenge that has come with running a business and raising a family. His steady encouragement and belief in me have made all the difference.
I’m also grateful to my first chiropractor. After helping me recover, she told me she thought I’d make a great chiropractor and encouraged me to look into it. That simple suggestion planted a seed that changed the course of my life.
Along the way I’ve also been fortunate to meet several amazing chiropractors. Seeing their success and having them as mentors has been powerful—and a reminder of how meaningful it is to have the help and support of others in this profession.
