Today we’d like to introduce you to Katie Camacho.
Hi Katie, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
After years of being a florist mother and dj wife’s helper at events and frequently jumping in behind the scenes of chaotic weddings I decided I should show up for myself and as myself. The one who loves organizing and things staying on time. I have a love of weddings and family so becoming a couples bestie or the person who tells your second cousin ‘put that down’ when mischief is happening are easy and fun for me.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
As this was a fun passion project it’s been fairly smooth to build a brand however anyone that’s attended or put on a wedding knows something interesting always happens! As long as it’s my job to deal with it and not the couple then it’s A ok!
I love texting a bride the next day and asking if they want the tea. From torn groomsmen pants before the ceremony to a missing marriage certificate it’s always something!
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
As a coordinator our job is not to plan the event but execute, however when booking with me I have such a passion for your vision that I can’t help but ask for all the details and share the joy. I love being booked early enough to help find vendors and share knowledge. It’s such a fun time and I want to make the couple know it’s ok to enjoy what you want, make it all work out and also take a deep breath because ultimately the plan is to celebrate you and your forever person!
My name is there to remind us that it’s ok to keep it basic and I’m here to be your bestie championing you and your vision. I’m proud to make connections that have continued beyond the big day into new families and friendships.
What are your plans for the future?
As I continue to work locally I plan on and hope to expand north into Santa Cruz County further. I have had the chance to assist at some larger weddings at sites like Holman Ranch as well and seeing the caliber of excellence there is always inspiring.
