Rising Stars: Meet Kristina Isdahl of Central Coast (California)

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristina Isdahl.

Hi Kristina, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I grew up in St. Helena in Napa Valley, and my path to where I am now definitely wasn’t linear. I originally started at University of California, Davis in 2020 during COVID as a pre-vet major because I’ve always loved animals and thought that was the direction I wanted to go. Along the way, I got my EMT license and shifted more toward pre-med, but deep down I still felt unsure about what I was truly meant to do long term.

Eventually, I transferred to University of California, Santa Barbara, and honestly that season of life taught me a lot about myself. During winter quarters, I would live in Lake Tahoe and teach skiing at Northstar, where I also became PSIA certified. That experience taught me a lot about leadership, communication, and adapting to all different types of people and personalities. While in school, I also worked as both a certified personal trainer and a horse trainer, which sounds like a random combination, but all of those roles really shaped my ability to connect with people, build trust, and help others grow in confidence.

After college, I stepped into my first full-time salaried role doing marketing for the gym I had trained at for about three years. I learned a ton from that experience, but I also realized pretty quickly that it wasn’t fully aligned with where I was supposed to be. I remember really praying on it and asking for clarity about what direction I should take next.

Not long after that, 805 Title & Escrow reached out to me completely unexpectedly. I went into the interview not knowing much about the industry, but something about the people, the culture, and the opportunity immediately felt right. I was hired on the spot, and over the past five months I’ve been growing with the company as an Account Executive.

What I love most is that my role is so relationship-driven. I get to combine marketing, communication, business development, and genuine connection all into one. It’s also pushed me creatively and professionally in ways I didn’t expect. Looking back now, even though my path changed a few times, every step taught me something valuable that I use in my career today.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road. One of the biggest challenges for me was navigating uncertainty and changing directions multiple times before finding where I truly fit. I went from pre-vet to pre-med, then into fitness and marketing, and there were moments where I questioned if I was falling behind compared to people who seemed to have everything figured out early on.

I also learned that just because something looks good on paper doesn’t mean it’s the right fit. Leaving my first salaried marketing job was difficult because it was stable, but deep down I knew it wasn’t where I was meant to stay.

Starting in the title and escrow industry was another challenge because I came in with no prior experience to an industry where many people have been doing this for decades. Being young in a relationship-based business means you have to prove yourself quickly, build confidence, and learn not to take rejection personally.

Looking back though, those challenges taught me resilience and pushed me toward opportunities that aligned much better with who I am.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m an Account Executive with 805 Title & Escrow, where I focus on relationship-building, marketing, and helping real estate professionals grow their businesses beyond just the transaction itself. I also recently became a licensed notary, which has been exciting because I genuinely love continuing to expand my knowledge and value within the industry.

What excites me most about where I work is that there is nonstop growth and innovation happening. We’re not a company that’s comfortable staying stagnant or doing things the “old-school” way just because that’s how it’s always been done. We’re constantly evolving, hiring, building, and adapting alongside the AI wave and new technology entering the real estate space.

One thing that’s really unique about us is that we close deals all over both California and Nevada, which gives me the ability to expand relationships and business opportunities far beyond just one local market. Right now, I’m heavily involved in helping lead our expansion efforts into the Lake Tahoe region on both the California and Nevada sides. Tahoe has been a huge part of my life personally for years, so being able to combine that connection with my career and help grow our presence there feels very full circle for me.

Our team has decades and lifetimes of experience behind it, but we also have people developing apps, creating new software, improving systems, and finding modern ways to better serve both agents and clients. I truly believe we’re helping lead a new wave of title and escrow that is more relationship-driven, innovative, and growth-focused than people traditionally expect from the industry.

I think what sets me apart personally is that I bring a mix of ambition, creativity, communication, and genuine relationship-building into everything I do. I’m very people-focused, but I also love strategy, branding, psychology, and innovation. I care deeply about building long-term trust with people rather than just transactional business relationships.

What I’m most proud of is how quickly I’ve been able to grow in a completely new industry while surrounding myself with a team that pushes me to think bigger every day. It feels like I’m part of something that’s evolving very quickly, and being able to grow alongside that has been incredibly rewarding.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
Honestly, I don’t believe in luck. I believe that God has a plan for everyone, and a lot of the moments in my life that seemed random at the time ended up making sense later on.

There were times where I felt uncertain about my direction or questioned why certain opportunities weren’t working out, but looking back now, those moments usually redirected me toward something better aligned with where I was supposed to be. Even getting connected with 805 Title & Escrow felt very unexpected, but perfectly timed. I was saved, and since then I’ve truly put my trust and faith into God’s plan for me rather than trying to force everything on my own timeline.

A verse that has always stayed with me is Proverbs 16:9: “In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.” I think that really reflects my journey. I’ve learned that faith, consistency, and being willing to trust the process matter far more than luck ever could.
