Rising Stars: Meet Shaun Smith of Central Coast (California)

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shaun Smith.

Hi Shaun, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Seth and I are two former athletes turned entrepreneurs. We started researching and playing around with AI, building websites and automations.

We realized that with how fast technology is moving, small business we’re going to have a tough time keeping up. So, we started the business, joined BNI, and have been enjoying the hustle.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Definitely not. The ignorance tax was paid. We had to learn how to turn a vision into a real business, and everything that comes with it.

Seth already own his own baseball training business, and I work full time at the Hotel Santa Barbara, so juggling our daily lives with the new business was tough at first.

Developing our offer was a huge milestone. As you can imagine, it’s hard to explain AI and tech to owners who can barely send an email, but I’m so thankful to all of the people of BNI, they welcomed us with open arms and gave us the motivation to keep pushing.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Personally, I’ve always loved art and music, and would find ways to bring creativity with everything I do. It’s one of the reasons I wanted to start a business, to have that creative control over something I believe in.

My path to tech and AI started with music. I’ve been playing guitar for years now, and I got really into music production, turning my bedroom into a home studio. This is where I gained the patience for technology and navigating sound systems to get an end result.

I think it’s so important to have a creative outlet, especially when life starts to get overwhelming.

What were you like growing up?
Seth played division 1 baseball at Butler, and I played quarterback at SBCC, so our entire lives revolved around sports up until a couple of years ago.

Being an athlete ingrained leadership and discipline into our lives, and it paved the way for us to get out into the community and brave new waters.
