Today we’d like to introduce you to Justin Orton.
Hi Justin, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Our Story started during an interesting time in the world, it started during the COVID Pandemic. We wanted to create a place for kids to come and enjoy the sport they love while also making it affordable for as many people as we could. From there, Nitro Renegades Inc was born. We are a Non-Profit Softball Organization based in Paso Robles, CA which started in 2021. At that time we had 1 Team. Over the next 5 years, that 1 Team went on to set the standard that many know today as “The Nitro Way”. In 2024 we added a 2nd Team of young ladies who wanted to be apart of something bigger than themselves. Then in 2025 we added a 3rd Team. Our 3 teams vary amongst three different age groups; 16U, 14U & 10U. This marked the true beginning of our goal to become a Softball Organization people know throughout Central California.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Smooth is an interesting word to choose for this. Like any business, there will always be bumps or obstacles along the way. For a Sports Organization though, those obstacles are a little different. In order to have a team for the girls to be able to play, you require 9 girls on a team. The hope is that you have more than 9 players, in case an injury occurs or if someone is not able to make the games. So when someone leaves the team for different reasons, you have to find new girls to add to the team to ensure you can keep playing. That is the true obstacle for any sports organization, to keep acquiring talented players to ensure that the standard we have set stays where we have set it. When looking to acquire new players, you have to deal with other teams that have been created around the area. When more teams are created in an area, the pool of players get diluted which makes it tough to find the specific type of player you are looking for. Over our 5 years, we have done a great job of finding talent that has been looked over and developing them into the player they hope to become.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Nitro Renegades Inc is a Non-Profit Softball Organization that was built around making softball a safe place for all girls to come and enjoy the game they love while making it affordable for as many people as we can.
Our Mission: At Nitro Renegades Softball Organization, our mission is to ignite the spirit of competition, teamwork, and resilience in young athletes. We are dedicated to providing a dynamic and supportive environment where girls can develop their skills, build lasting friendships, and achieve their fullest potential both on and off the field. By fostering a love for the game and encouraging personal growth, we aim to empower the next generation of leaders and athletes with the confidence and determination to excel in all aspects of life.
I am the CEO as well as the Head Coach for our 3 different teams. I provide my knowledge of the sport as well as life experiences that have helped me though my sports career. I was a Division 1 College soccer player at the University of Delaware and my experience of playing in College separates me from a lot of other coaches in the area. I can prepare athletes for what they can expect at the next level. Wether its the sport itself, the academics or even the traveling aspect of being a College Athlete.
We separate ourselves from other organizations in the area by the way we coach and treat our players. Our athletes go through college level practices which focus on the physical and more importantly the mental part of the game. We also push our athletes to become independent with how they carry themselves on & off the field. When our athletes leave our organization they will have the tools needed to succeed in the next steps in their lives.
Something we are very proud of is every athlete is treated the same. It does not matter where you come from, your skill level or even who you know. Every athlete is given the same chance to prove themselves through practice and games. Treating everyone the same is how we create the trust that our athletes and their parents have grown to have with myself as well as all the coaches on staff.
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
I grew up a very outgoing young man. I enjoyed hanging around my friends, playing multiple sports and spending time with my family. Academics and Sports were a big driving force in my life. The 2 worked hand in hand creating the type of person that i have become. I enjoyed the obstacles and challenges that they provided and it helped me realize that I would want to coach student athletes when i became older.
