Hi Gavin, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
It all started when I was away at college in Virginia and I noticed the landscapers putting in little to no effort and I realized I could do it way better, heck if they could get a commercial contract with that effort what could I do? This also coincided with me being surrounded by a large network of entrepreneurs encouraging me to go for it. Long story short after the semester ended I flew home started my business and here I am today booking quotes, organizing jobs and delivering results!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
NO!!!! It has not been a smooth road but it never will and I’m okay with it, being an entrepreneur is being a problem solver and thats what I signed up for. A few examples of problems ive overcome is dissolution of business partners, employees calling out sick, contractors messing up dates, customers paying me late, under quoting, etc

Ventura County Rock & Mulch is a landscape transformation company. Practically we install premium rocks, mulch, decomposed granite, turf, edging, lighting, colorful plant life etc. But really we dont sell all of these services we sell pride of ownership, beautiful spaces for family and friends to create lifetime memories and so much more! Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
My favorite childhood memory would have to be coming to visit my first orthodox Christian liturgy ever at 17yo. It lead me closer to God through his church and that has transformed me and is continuing to transform me. It also is what I base my company values and morals off of. God bless you all!
