Check Out Chris Meugniot’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chris Meugniot.

Chris, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Hey there, I’m Chris, a travel / commercial photographer based in Ventura, CA. I’m fortunate enough to live minutes from the beach and just a short drive to the mountains. It’s been the perfect hub to build a creative career and serves as inspiration for a vast number of projects. Nowadays my work takes me to places i could only dreamed of, the beaches of Kauai, the waterfalls of Iceland. Being able to create with awesome people and work across multiple genres is what brings me joy!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s been a roller coaster! When you’re first starting out you just want to find work or people to collaborate with and it can be tough to find people who will say yes. Eventually you get some momentum and all of a sudden you’re too busy and you wish things would slow down. It’s always been a balancing act of working too much and not working enough.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I specialize in photography, a more photojournalistic approach to commercial photography to be specific. I’d say I’m know for creating moments that feel genuine and authentic in a world that is starting to feel less genuine. I think what I’m most proud of is who I am when I’m on set and creating. How I interact with others and how I treat other people is big for me. I always want to make people feel appreciated and like they had a great time working together.

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
My city is the best! It’s close enough to LA for work, but far enough that you avoid all of the chaos. It’s got small town vibes, but city amenities. you can drive any direction and find something amazing to do, eat, drink, you name it.

It’s pretty hard to find something that I dislike about Ventura. I guess the only thing that I dislike is that it’s not as walkable as I’d like. I love going for walks and often times I have to drive somewhere to get a good walk in.
