Today we’d like to introduce you to Lauren Chaney.
Hi Lauren, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I grew up with a passion for horses, art, photography, and design. I began freelancing while still in high school and had my first work published during that time. Determined to follow my dreams, I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design and Media Arts in 2018.
After graduation, I worked as a designer for a prominent western wear company before taking the leap to start my own business. For the past seven years, I have been designing full-time, creating artwork and branding for clients across the country and around the world.
I feel incredibly blessed by the support of my amazing clients and followers, which has allowed me to grow a successful business doing what I love. Building lasting relationships with clients and helping bring their visions to life is one of the most rewarding parts of my work. I look forward to continuing to create, inspire, and develop new designs for years to come.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Running a business isn’t for the weak. It’s definitely not always a smooth road. Behind every design is a lot of hard work, long days, late nights, endless emails, phone calls, marketing, and constantly planning what’s next. It’s not always easy, but I’m incredibly grateful that I get to do what I love every single day.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
When I first started creating and sharing my work on social media, there were only a handful of us designing in the western industry. Since then, it has absolutely exploded, and there are so many talented artists and designers out there.
One thing I’ve always focused on is staying true to my own style while continuing to evolve and think ahead. Every design starts as a hand-drawn sketch, and I love sharing the process behind the artwork through videos and behind-the-scenes content. I think showing the work, creativity, and time that goes into each piece is what helps set my designs apart and keeps my work authentically me.
How do you think about happiness?
Nothing makes me happier than seeing my artwork out in the world. I truly feel like I’m living a dream being able to create designs every day and turn my passion into a career.
One of my favorite parts of what I do is creating artwork with messages that inspire, encourage, and uplift others. If a design can make someone smile, feel seen, or spread a little extra kindness, then it’s done exactly what I hoped it would. In a world that can sometimes feel heavy, I love being able to share a little positivity through my art.
