I am writing to share the story behind our business, Amerirooter Drain Cleaning.
Before launching AmeriRooter, my husband Ezequiel dedicated more than 20 years of his life to working in the plumbing industry. His experience, hard work, and commitment to helping customers built the foundation for what would eventually become our own business.
In 2022, I graduated with my Associate of Arts degree in Business Administration. One of my final projects was to create a business plan. As I worked on the assignment, Ezequiel helped me develop the idea, and together we created a business plan for a drain cleaning company. What started as a school project quickly became a dream we both shared.
As believers in Christ, we always felt that one day God would open the door for us to start our own business. We just didn’t know when that time would come. In July 2024, we received unexpected news that the company Ezequiel had worked for 14 years was shutting down. While it was a difficult moment, we knew it was also the answer to many prayers and the push we needed to step out in faith.
With Ezequiel’s 20+ years of hands-on experience and my business education, AmeriRooter was born.We often joke that I’m the brains of the company and he’s the hands—but the truth is that AmeriRooter exists because of the strengths we each bring to the table. I handle much of the business side, while Ezequiel uses his expertise in the field to serve our customers with excellence. Together, we make a great team.
From the very beginning, we have seen God’s hand guiding us every step of the way. When we didn’t have a logo, someone reached out and generously offered to create one for us. Later, a web designer contacted us after seeing our simple website and offered to bless us by completely redesigning it. These unexpected acts of kindness reminded us that God was providing for us and confirming that we were on the right path.
One of the biggest reasons we started AmeriRooter was our desire to help our community by providing affordable drain cleaning services. We noticed that many homeowners were being charged $500 or more to clear a drain, which can be a major financial burden for families. We wanted to create a company that offers honest, reliable service at a fair price. That’s why our standard drain cleaning service for sinks, tubs, showers starts at just $98.
We believe that when people understand they have an affordable option they can trust, word will spread naturally. Our goal is not just to build a successful business, but to become a company known throughout our community for integrity, quality work, fair pricing, and genuine care for our customers.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No, it has not been a completely smooth road. Like many small business owners, we faced challenges from the very beginning. Starting a business required significant investments in equipment, licensing, insurance, marketing, and building a customer base. One of our biggest challenges has been getting our name out into the community and earning people’s trust as a new company while competing against larger, well-established plumbing companies.
There were also moments of uncertainty. Leaving the security of a steady paycheck and stepping into entrepreneurship was both exciting and intimidating. We had to learn how to balance running a business while continuing to provide exceptional service to every customer.
One challenge we continue to face is educating the community about what we do. As a drain cleaning company, our mission is to provide an affordable solution for clogged drains. Many homeowners automatically call a plumbing company and end up paying hundreds of dollars for a service that can often be resolved for a fraction of the cost. We believe people deserve honest, affordable options, and our goal is to help homeowners save money while still receiving quality service.
However, every challenge has helped us grow stronger. Our faith in God has carried us through the difficult moments and reminded us why we started this journey. We believe that perseverance, hard work, and treating every customer with honesty, respect, and integrity have helped us overcome obstacles along the way.
While the journey hasn’t always been easy, it has been incredibly rewarding. Seeing satisfied reviews from customers, building relationships within our community, and watching AmeriRooter grow has made every challenge worth it. We know we still have a long road ahead, but we are excited for the future and grateful for every opportunity to serve our community.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
The most important lesson we’ve learned is to trust God’s timing. When we first dreamed about starting our own business, we thought we needed everything figured out before taking the leap. Looking back, we realize that God was preparing us all along. The closure of my husband’s previous company was unexpected, but it became the opportunity that pushed us to finally pursue our dream.
We’ve also learned that relationships matter more than anything in business. Customers may call us for drain cleaning, but they remember how they were treated. Being honest, showing up when we say we will, charging fair prices, and genuinely caring about people has helped us build trust within our community.
Another lesson is that success doesn’t happen overnight. Building a business takes patience, consistency, and perseverance. There have been challenges and setbacks, but each one has taught us something valuable and helped us grow stronger.
Most importantly, we’ve learned that when you combine faith, hard work, and a heart to serve others, amazing things can happen. We are grateful for every customer, every opportunity, and every lesson that has helped shape AmeriRooter into what it is today.
