Today we’d like to introduce you to Danielle Parker.
Hi Danielle, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I have always loved working with children and knew I wanted to be a child psychologist since I was 16-years-old. I studied psychology at UC Santa Barbara and went straight into my doctorate program at Alliant International University at the age of 20. As soon as I earned my doctorate in psychology, I began working with children with neurodevelopmental disorders, providing therapy and psychological assessments. In 2019, I decided to open my open practice, specializing in children and families, and in 2022, I expanded my practice to create Nature and Nurture Therapy.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Starting my practice on my own was definitely challenging, especially trying to establish myself in the community. Then, once I expanded my practice, there are of course challenges with choosing the right fit in therapists to join the team and making sure all of my employees and clients are happy and well taken care of.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Nature and Nurture Therapy?
Nature and Nurture Therapy is a practice for individuals in all walks of life. While I started out specializing in children with neurodevelpmental disorders, we have become so much more. Now, we support ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Learning Disorders, Anxiety, Depression, Life Transitions, Trauma, Parenting, and Infertility/Perinatal Mental Health. We provide individual, family and group therapy, psychological evaluations, EMDR Therapy, Yoga and Sound Therapy, as well as animal-assisted therapy. Not to mention, we now provide services in-home or out in the community to meet our client’s needs no matter where they are.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
We never could have come this far without the support of friends, family, colleagues, and of course our clients.
