Hi Robin , please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My journey has been anything but linear.
I began my career as a licensed cosmetologist with a passion for beauty and helping women feel confident. For many years, I focused primarily on supporting my family and building a life that looked very different from the one I live today.
When unexpected life circumstances forced me to start over, I found myself facing the challenge of rebuilding—not just financially, but personally and professionally as well. Rather than allowing those setbacks to define me, I chose to grow through them.
Over the past eleven years, I have immersed myself in personal development, wellness, and entrepreneurship through my work with Isagenix. That season taught me resilience, leadership, and the importance of continually investing in yourself, regardless of your age or circumstances.
In 2025, I launched GirlPolished Beauty, a clean beauty brand inspired by the belief that beauty is about more than makeup—it’s about confidence, perseverance, and becoming the best version of yourself. The name GirlPolished reflects the journey itself: life’s challenges may shape us, but they don’t have to break us. We can continue learning, growing, refining, and becoming.
Today, I am building GirlPolished Beauty one customer, one order, and one dream at a time. My mission is to encourage women to embrace their journey, pursue their goals with courage, and remember that it’s never too late to start over and create something meaningful.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely has not been a smooth road.
Like many entrepreneurs, I’ve faced personal and professional challenges that forced me to pivot, reinvent myself, and start over more than once. There were seasons when I had to rebuild my life, my confidence, and my career while navigating uncertainty and learning how to stand on my own again.
One of the biggest challenges has been learning to embrace change. Life doesn’t always unfold according to our plans, and there were times when I had to let go of what I thought my future would look like and find the courage to create a new one.
Building a business from the ground up has also come with its own challenges. As a founder, you’re often wearing every hat—product development, marketing, customer service, content creation, shipping orders, and managing finances. There are long days, late nights, setbacks, and moments when progress feels slower than you’d like.
What has carried me through is faith, personal growth, and the belief that every challenge can teach us something valuable. Over the past eleven years, I have invested heavily in personal development and learned that resilience is built one decision at a time. Looking back, many of the obstacles that felt overwhelming in the moment ultimately became opportunities for growth.
Today, I’m grateful for every chapter of the journey because those experiences shaped the woman and entrepreneur I am becoming. They taught me that success isn’t about avoiding challenges—it’s about continuing to move forward despite them.

One of the things I am most proud of is building GirlPolished Beauty from the ground up and creating a brand that genuinely connects with women. Through social media, live selling, community events, and direct customer relationships, we’ve been able to create more than a beauty company—we’ve built a community centered around confidence, encouragement, and personal growth.
My goal is for every customer to feel beautiful, capable, and empowered long after the makeup comes off.
Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
I grew up in Minnesota and was always drawn to beauty, fashion, hair, and makeup. I loved the creativity of the beauty industry and the way it could help people express themselves and feel more confident.
As a child and teenager, however, confidence didn’t always come naturally to me. I was the chubby girl growing up, and there were times when I felt overlooked or didn’t fully see my own worth. Those experiences shaped me in ways I didn’t understand at the time, but they ultimately helped develop the empathy and compassion I have today.
In my late teens, I began focusing more on my health, mindset, and personal growth. As my confidence grew, I realized how powerful it is when someone feels seen, encouraged, and comfortable in their own skin.
Looking back, I think that’s why I’m so passionate about helping women today. Whether through beauty, wellness, or simply sharing my journey, I want women to know they are worthy, capable, and valuable exactly as they are.
Many years later, that same passion became part of the foundation of GirlPolished Beauty. My belief is that every woman has her own unique beauty, and when we learn to embrace it, incredible things can happen.
At my core, I’m still a Midwest girl who believes in faith, perseverance, kindness, and becoming a little better than you were yesterday.
