Hidden Gems: Meet Lala of Pourfection Mobile Bartenders

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lala.

Hi Lala, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Hi! My name is Lala and I’m the owner of Pourfection Mobile Bartenders. I started my journey here on the central coast 13 years ago. I got into catering serving about 10 years ago, which led me to wedding bartending. I was humbly blessed with the opportunity to aquire my business and decide to take a leap of faith towards my future. My hard work, commitment to the guest, along with my undeniable personality and passion gave me the opportunity to become who I am today.

There has been a lot of people who have believed in me and supported me on this journey, and, as we know every journey takes a team and with out them I wouldn’t be where I’m at today. I’m truly blessed to live here on the central coast and have the opportunity to own my own business, all while raising my 2 boys and helping couples celebrate there most special day! Even if we are just a small factor. Some times it’s the little things that matter the most!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I dont think any new chapter is ever smooth or easy, and there will always be speed bumps and challenges, but it’s all about how you bounce back that really defines your strength and resilience.

I went through some rough patches in the beginning trying to figure out my policies and procedures, how I wanted to run my business, and what type of leader and boss I wanted to be all while homeschooling and raising my son’s. It definitely wasn’t easy for me but, I over came my fears of failing and started believing in myslef.

Over the past 2 years I’ve gained my voice and confidence all while still maintaining moral for the team, the clients, and my household. Everything is about balance and structure and once I got that together all the bumps smoothed themselves out!

As you know, we’re big fans of Pourfection Mobile Bartenders. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
I run a Mobile Bartending business here on the central coast specializing in custom drink menus and ingredients.

The thing that sets me apart from other Mobile Bartenders I feel is my special curated cocktail menu’s and drink’s. The creativity and freedom to take there palette and combine it with my special touch. I hand press all my own house mixes and use only fresh wholesome ingredients to elevate any cocktail menu. We’re not aiming to do the same margarita, our goal is to have THE margarita. We’re combining flavors and profiles that most people are afraid to do.

Weddings are very fast past and very guest forward, It’s a memory that everyone will have for years to come. My goal is to always be apart of that memory and have the client and the guest talking about the drinks for years to come. Searching for the taste that only I can create!

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
The most important lesson I’ve learned is patience and understanding. I had to learn and realize that sometimes it’s ok to take a breath. I get really invested in my clients and they become my family and I always want to reach perfection, hence the name Pourfection, but along the way im coming to terms with being ok not being perfect! That im only human, flawed like the rest of us and I have to give myself grace when the time calls for it. No matter if I reach my goal or not for my day to day life as a mom amd business owner, or with my clients, I still have to keep going because the reward is always greater than the risk!
