Today we’d like to introduce you to Matt Taddeo.
Hi Matt, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started beauty school 2 days after Highschool graduation. I wasn’t sure it was gonna work out for me but I was already a father my first born son was born 2 days before my 17th birthday. So needless to say I need to find a career and fast.
I feel like I got lucky and had my first assistant job in Newport coast for a gentleman named Umit. My first real mentor. After bouncing around to a few salon in a few years I found home on the balboa peninsula and built the base of my clients in a small family owned shop by the beach.
Started teaching for Schwarzkopf in my mid 20s and did that for good half decade or so. Moved my business off the peninsula and into a luxury shop before finding out the owner of that shop was sexually assaulting hairdressers and my coworkers. So I ran from there and got taken in by some wonderful owner at salon zero. While focusing more on my brand Beach Blonde Boss my wife and I built bloom HAIR STUDIO. A boutique studio salon for us and our two friends. Now that my kids are happy and safe, my wife by my side and a beauty studio to own and work in. I’ve started back at teaching and doing it independently. And that’s pretty much where we are now.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No way hahahahaha that’s a funny question. Building a business is never smooth or easy, even now as I try and build my independent education classes it’s a struggle.
But nothing worth doing is easy
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m best know for blinding services and transformations.
But I hold a massive passion for hair cutting and all things color.
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
Steady the ship
