Today we’d like to introduce you to Krysteena Killfigure.
Hi Krysteena, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My journey has never been a straight line, and honestly, I wouldn’t want it to be. I’ve always believed that having a multifaceted soul makes for the best storytelling, and my life has been exactly that: a beautiful blend of structure, grit, and untamed creativity.
Growing up, I discovered my voice through writing. I’ve been an active poet since 2005, using lyrical and rhyming verse to navigate the world, build emotional resilience, and explore themes of self-love and boundaries. Writing was my anchor, but as I grew, my creative expression expanded into other mediums. I became captivated by the power of visual and sensory art—diving deep into the world of makeup artistry, exploring alternative and vintage fashion (think 90s supermodel goth meets structured tailoring), and evolving into a published model and content creator. Later on, I even fell in love with the intricate, sensory world of the fragrance industry, treating perfume layering and scent profiling as just another extension of my art.
But the creative side is only half of my story. To understand how I got to where I am today, you have to look at the hustle. I’ve never been afraid to get my hands dirty or step into spaces where you wouldn’t expect to find an artist. My professional background is an eclectic mix of both white-collar and freelance worlds. I’ve navigated the corporate and logistics sectors, sharpened my teeth in sales and customer service, and worked in the beauty industry in freelancing with hair and makeup services.
Balancing the fast-paced, high-stakes demands of those industries while keeping my creative fire alive wasn’t always easy, but it shaped who I am. It gave me the discipline, perspective, and resilience to stand firmly in my worth.
Today, I’m proud to live and create right here in San Diego, balancing my professional drive with my passion as an influencer, writer, mental health advocate and artist. I’m also fiercely protective of my personal peace and the beautiful life I’ve built with my cats and my brilliant son who is carving out his own path in meteorology and music industry. Every step of my journey—from beauty salons, fashion runways and corporate boardrooms to the poetry pages and creative studios—has brought me to a place of ultimate alignment. I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be, creating on my own terms.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but I don’t think any road worth traveling ever is. The bumps along the way are exactly what gave me my texture and my strength.
One of the biggest struggles for me was simply the balancing act. When you have a creative soul but you’re also a natural hustler, it’s incredibly easy to get stretched thin. There were years where I was pouring massive amounts of energy into high-stakes, fast-paced industries—navigating the corporate world, managing community clubs , or working demanding shifts in whatever industry I was hyper fixated in. Coming home from a grueling day in a high-intensity environment and finding the mental space to write poetry, create content, or dive into makeup artistry took an immense amount of discipline. There were times when the burnout was very real, and I had to fight hard to keep my creative fire from being completely snuffed out by the daily grind.
Another major hurdle was learning the art of boundaries. In both the professional world and the creative industry, you’re constantly met with noise, opinions, and pressures to conform. It took time, trial, and some painful lessons to learn how to block out that noise, stand firmly in my worth, and prioritize my peace. I had to learn how to say ‘no’ to environments and connections that didn’t serve my growth, and strictly protect the inner circle and life I was building.
The beautiful thing about those struggles is that they taught me I am entirely self-made and highly resilient. Overcoming the burnout and the noise is what allowed me to step into my power as an independent artist. I wouldn’t trade the hard chapters for anything, because they taught me how to handle the weight of my own success.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
At my core, I am a multi-disciplinary creator, advocate, and visual artist. I don’t believe in staying in a single lane, so my work spans across several creative passions that all feed into one another.
What I Do & What I Specialize In
Visually, I specialize in intricate, dramatic makeup artistry—specifically bold, multi-colored eyeshadow techniques like smoky cut creases, halo eyes, and precise vintage pinup looks complete with retro hairstyles. This blends seamlessly into my work as a published model and content creator, where my personal style is heavily anchored in a 90s supermodel goth aesthetic, structured tailoring, and alternative fashion. I’m also an aroma artisan, specializing in the science and art of perfume layering to create entirely custom, sensory scent profiles.
But a huge, vital part of my daily world lives in the gaming community. I am a a regular gamer and streamer, where I blend my love for gaming with real-time connection.
What I Am Known For & What Sets Me Apart
I think I’m most known for my versatility and my absolute refusal to compromise on authenticity. I can transition from the sharp, high-fashion world of modeling to a live gaming stream, all while being completely transparent about who I am.
What truly sets me apart is how I use my platform. I don’t just stream for entertainment; I stream with a mission. Having Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) myself, I know firsthand how deeply misunderstood mental health disorders can be, and how heavy the stigma is. I use my live streams and digital space to raise awareness, foster open conversations, and actively champion those living with mental health challenges. My community is a safe haven where we can laugh, play, and talk about the real, heavy stuff without judgment.
What I Am Most Proud Of
I am incredibly proud of building a space where art meets advocacy. Standing up as a proud, successful, multi-talented woman who also manages BPD allows me to show others that a diagnosis doesn’t define your capabilities or have to limit your beauty, creative drive, or presence. Being able to combine my creative passions—whether it’s poetry, makeup, fashion, or gaming—with a genuine purpose to heal and support others is the absolute highlight of my journey. I’m not just creating content; I’m building a community of resilience.
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
We are standing at a really fascinating turning point in both the creator and gaming industries. Over the next five to ten years, I see a massive shift away from passive, highly curated content and toward what I call ‘Ecosystems of Trust and Belonging.’
For a long time, social media and streaming were all about the numbers—chasing views, keeping up with rapid algorithmic trends, and presenting a flawless, hyper-polished image. But audiences are experiencing severe burnout from that. People don’t want to just watch a creator anymore; they want to feel connected to a real person. In the next decade, the creators who thrive will be the ones who build interactive, safe spaces where viewers are treated as a community, not just an audience.
In the gaming, creator and live-streaming sectors specifically, I see streaming becoming the primary broadcast layer for vital social movements and mental health advocacy. Gamers and Creators are no longer viewed as isolated individuals playing in a room; gaming culture is now mainstream entertainment, and streamers are cultural translators. Because of that, live streams are going to become massive hubs for peer-to-peer support. We’re already seeing a beautiful push toward breaking down the stigma surrounding complex mental health conditions, and in the next few years, I think digital spaces will integrate mental wellness and safe-haven communities directly into the fabric of the entertainment itself.
Even in the beauty and alternative fashion industries, the trend is moving toward radical self-expression and subculture reclamation rather than conforming to mass-market standards. People are using visual art, alternative style, and sensory experiences like fragrance to tell their own deeply personal stories.
Ultimately, the future of this industry belongs to intentionality.
The era of the untouchable, perfect influencer is fading. The next ten years will be defined by multi-dimensional creators who aren’t afraid to show up exactly as they are—flaws, diagnoses, passions, and all—and use their platforms to leave the digital world a little safer and more connected than they found it.
I plan to be apart of that wave and bring my authenticity, creative drive, and passion for encourage mental health while building and safe space and community.
