Hidden Gems: Meet Nadra Ehrman of Nadra Ehrman Santa Barbara Realtor®

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nadra Ehrman.

Hi Nadra, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My career began in 2002 in the nonprofit sector working with homeless youth, where I first saw how deeply housing stability influences opportunity and well-being. I later in 2009, I joined The Towbes Group in Santa Barbara, managing multifamily communities before serving as Sustainability Director. In a desire to expand my professional experience in housing, I began working in real estate with Keller Williams in 2024 as a Social Enterprise Realtor® serving Santa Barbara, Goleta, and surrounding communities, What is a Social Enterprise Realtor®? It is a term I coined to describe a real estate practice that integrates housing, sustainability, community impact, and long-term financial empowerment.

As a Social Enterprise Realtor®, I believe real estate can be a powerful tool for creating opportunity. My approach combines concierge-level real estate guidance with a broader commitment to housing accessibility, sustainability, community well-being, and long-term financial empowerment. Whether helping first-time homebuyers explore affordability strategies, connecting clients with housing and energy-efficiency resources, or supporting informed decision-making through education and advocacy, my goal is to create value that extends beyond the closing table.

Beyond my professional work, I remain actively engaged in civic and community leadership. I currently serve on the Santa Barbara County Board of Education and contribute to organizations such as the Community Environmental Council and the Women’s Fund of Santa Barbara. These roles reflect my broader commitment to strengthening the connections between housing, education, sustainability, and community opportunity.
Through my work in real estate and community leadership, I aim to support thriving communities by strengthening the connections between housing, education, civic engagement, and environmental stewardship.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
My hardest challenges have often come from within. For much of my younger years, I didn’t fully believe in myself or trust my own voice. Discovering what makes me uniquely me, learning to honor it, and having the courage to share it with the world has been one of my greatest lessons and continues to be a daily practice.

I’ve always been a bit quirky and don’t easily fit into a distinct mold. Over time, I’ve learned that this is a strength. As a real estate professional and creative, showing up authentically helps me connect with clients, community members, and affiliate partners who align with my values and are genuinely enjoyable to work with.

The pull to conform or fit into a certain mold is always there. But through years of experience, I’ve come to understand that staying true to who I am creates a more gratifying life and allows me to build deeper, more meaningful connections with like-minded people.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
I’m a real estate professional serving Santa Barbara, Goleta, and California’s Central Coast, offering a thoughtful, service-centered approach to buying, selling, leasing, and relocation. What sets my business apart is the social enterprise lens I bring to real estate. With more than 20 years of experience across housing, sustainability, education, and community leadership, I see real estate not only as a transaction, but as a powerful tool for creating positive social, environmental, and financial impact.

My approach combines concierge-level service with strategic thought partnership. I work closely with clients to understand their goals, identify opportunities, navigate obstacles, and make informed real estate decisions with clarity and confidence. Whether I’m helping someone purchase a home, sell a property, navigate a relocation, or position a rental in the market, I bring creativity, care, and deep local knowledge to the process.

What I’m most proud of is building a real estate brand that genuinely reflects who I am and what I value. I believe professional success and positive impact can coexist, and that real estate can contribute to long-term financial well-being, stronger communities, and a healthier built environment. My goal is to provide an elevated level of service while helping my clients make decisions that support both their immediate needs and their long-term vision.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
My favorite childhood memories are of spending summers outside with my cousins and kids in the neighborhood. We would ride bikes, play catch, hide-and-seek, hopscotch, and tag, staying outside all day until dark.

As I get older, I try to remind myself that play is still important. Taking time away from busy schedules to laugh, be outside in the sun, and spend time with people we care about, simply for the fun of it, is a special kind of freedom.
