Meet Rohina Yakubi of Central Coast (California)

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rohina Yakubi.

Hi Rohina, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Bloom Events by R&S came to life in April 2026 from a shared dream, a lifelong friendship, and a passion for creating unforgettable celebrations.

We’re two moms, best friends, and business partners who genuinely love bringing beautiful ideas to life. Designing and executing stunning events isn’t just what we do—it’s what we were made to do. There is nothing more fulfilling than creating moments that bring joy, leave lasting memories, and make every client feel truly celebrated.

From day one, we’ve poured our hearts, creativity, and countless hours into building Bloom Events by R&S. Every detail reflects our commitment to excellence and our love for this craft.

We’re incredibly grateful for everyone who has supported us so far, and we’re excited to continue growing, creating, and celebrating life’s most meaningful moments—one event at a time.

Sometimes the most extraordinary journeys begin with the most unexpected encounters. Looking back on how our paths crossed, we’re reminded that life has a remarkable way of bringing the right people together. Today, we’re grateful to be building something meaningful side by side.

Rohi lived in Frankfurt, Germany. Growing up, her parents home was always filled with warmth, laughter, and life. Family and friends would gather often, sharing celebrations, delicious food, and countless beautiful memories.

From a young age, she and her siblings naturally became part of these moments, always helping their mother prepare for gatherings. It was a normal part of their upbringing, but in hindsight, it quietly shaped her love for creating meaningful spaces and bringing people together.

In 2007, after marrying her husband, she moved to his hometown of St. Gallen, Switzerland. It was a big change for her to move away from her family, but it became the beginning of a beautiful new chapter of her life. While living there, she continued her education at Academia Euregio Bodensee College, where she studied Business Administration. Soon after, she became a mom to her first daughter and spent many wonderful years traveling the world and making memories with her family. She would‘ve never thought of leaving Switzerland but eight years later life had other plans for her.

In 2015 she and her husband decided to start a new life and moved with her little daughter to Houston, Texas. During the four years there, they welcomed their second daughter into the world. Even though they had built a life there, Rohi never really felt home there and missed Switzerland and being closer to her family in Germany.

In 2020 she and her husband decided to leave Houston and moved to Southern California, while being pregnant with her third child. The moment she settled, she knew she had finally found a place that truly felt like home.

Rohi has always had a natural passion for bringing people together and creating beautiful spaces that make life’s most special moments even more memorable. Planning her daughters’ birthdays in particular made her realize how much she loved the entire process—from concept and design to execution.

That passion became the foundation for Rohi’s Signature Decor, established in 2022. Every event had been thoughtfully designed with love, intention, and meticulous attention to detail, with the goal of creating unforgettable experiences and lasting memories.

However, as her business continued to grow, she made the tough decision to step away so she could be fully present for her three daughters. It wasn’t a easy decision, especially because she poured her entire heart into her business and truly loved what she did, but her family will always come first. Her last event before taking a break was a beautiful Quinceañera at the Temecula wineries—a celebration that will always hold a special place in her heart.

A few years later, through a close mutual friend, she was introduced to Shug. From the very beginning, their connection felt natural and aligned, quickly evolving into a shared creative understanding and friendship.

Shug grew up in San Diego, California at a young age, where she grew up surrounded by the love of her big family. Family has always been at the center of who she is, shaping her values of kindness, resilience, and connection.

In 2010, Shug graduated from California State University San Marcos with a degree in Liberal Studies. Two years later, in 2012, she married her best friend, and together they began a new adventure in Florida.

While living in Florida, Shug found her passion as a kindergarten teacher. She loved inspiring young minds, watching her students grow, and creating a classroom where every child felt encouraged and supported. Working with children brought her so much joy and purpose.

In 2015, her husband’s career brought the family to New Jersey. Two years later, in 2017, they welcomed their first daughter. Becoming a mother was one of the greatest joys of Shug’s life, and she chose to become a full-time stay-at-home mom to cherish those precious early years.

In 2019, their family grew again with the arrival of their son. As much as they enjoyed building a life on the East Coast, they deeply missed their loved ones. In 2020, Shug and her husband made the heartfelt decision to return home to California, where both of their families lived. They wanted their daughters to grow up surrounded by grandparents, cousins, and the love and support of family—a decision that brought them back to the place they had always considered home.

Back in California, Shug embraced the joy of celebrating her culture and creating a warm, beautiful home for her family. She loved arranging fresh flowers in her house each week, and over time her passion for decor and flower arrangements grew even more. She also started to really enjoy celebrating and planning her kids’ birthdays, putting thought and creativity into every detail. Inspired by these moments, Shug dreamed of opening her own business one day as an event planner. Little did she know, that she would soon meet her business partner and dear friend Rohi.

The first time we met was in a coffee shop—and somehow, we just knew we were soul sisters. We talked for hours and instantly connected. What started as a simple conversation quickly turned into something deeper: we laughed, we shared, and even found ourselves crying together as we opened up about life, dreams, and everything in between.
During that conversation, we realized we shared the same dream—event styling. It was something we would always talk about, but like many moms balancing busy lives and children, it remained just that: a dream.
This year, however, we decided to take a leap of faith. We stopped talking about it and finally started building it. That decision became the beginning of Bloom Events by R&S—a business born from friendship, passion, and a shared vision to create meaningful, beautiful celebrations.

Bloom Events by R&S was born in April 2026 from this connection—a shared vision between two moms, best friends, and business partners. Together, we are deeply passionate about designing and executing stunning events that bring joy, beauty, and meaning to every celebration we touch.
For us, this is more than a business. It is a calling. Every detail is crafted with heart, creativity, and a commitment to excellence. We are grateful for every opportunity to bring visions to life and to continue growing something truly meaningful—one event at a time.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Like many other business owners, our journey has not always been smooth. We have faced our share of challenges while building and operating this business.

From learning how to balance motherhood with entrepreneurship, to navigating the demands of growing a brand from the ground up, there have been moments that tested our patience, resilience, and confidence. However, each challenge has also shaped us, taught us valuable lessons, and strengthened our commitment to what we are building together.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Bloom Events by R&S transforms visions into unforgettable, beautifully curated experiences that reflect the essence of every client. We don’t follow trends—we follow our clients’ vision and elevate it beyond expectations. That is our focus.

We specialize in event design and execution, creating meaningful, thoughtfully curated celebrations. From intimate gatherings to larger-scale events, we bring each vision to life through intentional design, refined detail, and a commitment to unforgettable experiences.

What sets us apart is not only our creativity, but the heart behind everything we do. As two moms and best friends, we understand the importance of meaningful moments and the emotion behind every celebration. We approach each event with care, intention, and a deeply personal touch—treating every client’s vision as if it were our own.

We don’t just design events—we create memories, atmosphere, and experiences that reflect the people behind them. This personal connection, combined with our dedication to excellence, is what makes our work truly unique.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
The most important lesson we’ve learned is to trust the process and remain patient. Success doesn’t happen overnight, and every challenge along the way has become an opportunity for growth.

We’ve also learned the importance of believing in each other, staying true to our shared vision, and putting our hearts into every event we create. These values are what truly set the foundation for our work and continue to guide us as we grow our business.
