Today we’d like to introduce you to Grace Valdovinos.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My journey started at a young age when I fell in love with soccer. What began as a fun activity quickly turned into a passion. Over the years, I’ve spent countless hours training, learning from coaches and teammates, and working to improve every aspect of my game.
Being homeschooled has given me the flexibility to dedicate extra time to training while continuing my education. Along the way, I’ve had opportunities to compete at higher levels, travel for tournaments, and challenge myself against strong competition. Each experience has helped me grow not only as a player but also as a person.
I come from a big, supportive family, and their encouragement has played a huge role in my journey. They’ve taught me the importance of hard work, perseverance, and staying positive through both successes and setbacks.
Today, I’m continuing to pursue my goals in soccer while also exploring opportunities in modeling and brand partnerships. I’m excited about what’s ahead and grateful for every opportunity to learn, grow, and represent the values that are important to me both on and off the field.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. My family has made a lot of sacrifices so I can continue playing the sport I love. Competitive soccer can be expensive, and there have been times when finances were a challenge. My parents have worked incredibly hard, budgeted carefully, and made sacrifices so I can attend practices, tournaments, and continue chasing my dreams. Seeing everything they do motivates me to give my best every day because I never want to take those opportunities for granted.
One of the most difficult moments recently was when my dad and I were involved in a car accident. It was a frightening experience that reminded me how quickly life can change. The accident taught me to be brave, to appreciate every day, and to never let fear stop me from doing what I love.
Looking back, every challenge has made me stronger. I’ve learned that setbacks don’t define you—it’s how you respond to them that matters. Those experiences have made me more resilient, more grateful, and even more determined to keep working toward my dreams both on and off the field.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a dedicated youth soccer player who is passionate about improving every day, both on and off the field. I spend countless hours training, studying the game, and finding ways to become a better teammate and athlete. While soccer is my main focus, I’m also beginning to explore modeling and brand partnerships that align with my love for sports and healthy living.
I’m known for my work ethic, coachability, and determination. No matter the outcome of a game or training session, I always look for ways to learn and grow. My coaches, teammates, and family know me as someone who gives my best effort, encourages others, and never gives up.
What I’m most proud of isn’t just the tournaments I’ve played in or the opportunities I’ve earned—it’s the person I’m becoming through the journey. I’m proud that I’ve stayed committed even when things have been difficult, and that I continue to chase my dreams with gratitude and perseverance.
I think what sets me apart is my mindset. I understand that success comes from consistency, discipline, and being willing to put in the work when no one is watching. I also know that I’m representing more than myself—I’m representing my family and everyone who has supported me. My goal is to inspire other young athletes to believe in themselves, work hard, and never let obstacles keep them from pursuing their dreams.
Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
One of the biggest resources in my life has been the amazing coaches and mentors who have invested in me. I’m especially grateful for Coach Mo, Coach Jerry, Coach Jay, and Coach Lio. They’ve challenged me to grow not only as a soccer player but also as a person. They push me to work hard, stay disciplined, and believe in myself.
I also love watching professional soccer matches, highlights, and training videos to study the game. Seeing how the best players move, communicate, and make decisions helps me improve my own game.
Most of all, my family has been my greatest support system. They make so many sacrifices so I can pursue my dreams, and they remind me every day to stay humble, be coachable, and give my best effort. I believe that surrounding yourself with people who believe in you and challenge you to grow is one of the most valuable resources anyone can have.
