Today we’d like to introduce you to Tess Booker.
Hi Tess , thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
If you had asked me years ago what I would be doing today, I never would have imagined this path. Looking back, though, every chapter of my life has quietly prepared me for it.
I’ve been married to my husband, Bryon, for more than 32 years, and together we’ve raised three incredible children. One of my greatest privileges was homeschooling our family while building businesses and serving others. Those years taught me that success isn’t measured only by what we accomplish, but by how we love, grow, and remain present through life’s challenges.
Professionally, my journey hasn’t followed a traditional path. I’ve been an entrepreneur for more than 25 years, an author, speaker, leadership roles and ministry opportunities, coach, podcast and radio host, and now a facilitator of transformational wellness experiences. For a long time, those roles seemed unrelated. Today, I see they were all preparing me for the work I’m doing now. Every season taught me something about people, leadership, resilience, and the power of genuine human connection.
Like many people, I’ve experienced seasons of joy, uncertainty, trauma, loss, growth, and reinvention. Those experiences deepened my curiosity about what truly helps people heal, thrive, and reconnect with themselves. I realized that lasting transformation isn’t created by simply gathering more information. People don’t always need another strategy—they often need the space to slow down, breathe, process, and remember who they are beneath the pressure and expectations of everyday life.
That understanding eventually led me to create Inspired Living Coaching and later TBP Strategies & Wellness LLC. where I combine emotional wellness, somatic practices, nervous system regulation, and 9D (Dimensional) Breathwork to help people move from surviving to living intentionally. Today I facilitate private coaching, group experiences, executive reset sessions, and transformational workshops designed to leaders and those who carry enormous amount of responsibility and pressure in their business and/or life to reduce stress, gain clarity, and reconnect with what matters most.
Along the way, another passion emerged: creating conversations that inspire. Through my work as a podcast and radio host with KPHRED Radio, I’ve had the privilege of interviewing authors, entrepreneurs, nonprofit leaders, and changemakers who are making a meaningful difference in the world. Those conversations continually remind me that every person has a story worth telling and that healing often begins when someone feels truly seen and heard.
What makes this work especially meaningful is that I don’t see wellness and business as separate worlds. When people become more emotionally aware and regulated, they communicate with greater authenticity, build healthier relationships, make wiser decisions, and create stronger families, businesses, and communities.
Looking back, I no longer see separate careers. I see one calling expressed through many seasons of life. Every experience—from entrepreneurship and motherhood to ministry, coaching, and media—has prepared me for the work I do today. My mission is simple: to create spaces where people can pause, breathe, reconnect with themselves, and move forward with greater clarity, purpose, and hope.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but looking back, I wouldn’t change it because every challenge shaped the person I am today.
Some of my earliest struggles began in childhood. I was born pigeon-toed, lived with an overwhelming sense of fear, and spent much of my early life believing I wasn’t enough. Learning came differently for me, and I often felt out of step with the world around me. Looking back now, I realize I spent much of my life searching for a sense of safety, belonging, and worth.
As I grew older, I do walk straight and I am a triathlete, I have overcome sickness and life continues to bring new challenges and new opportunities to grow. In my attempts of balancing marriage, raising three children, homeschooling, building businesses, serving in ministry, and supporting loved ones through difficult seasons, and now becoming a grandmother have all stretched me in ways I never expected.
Entrepreneurship has been filled with uncertainty, financial challenges, moments of self-doubt, and the courage to keep moving forward even when the path wasn’t clear.
One of the most life-changing experiences along the way was traveling to India. Being immersed in a culture so different from my own, and witnessing compassion expressed through service inspired by Mother Teresa’s ministry, changed the way I see people. I came home resentments and frustration only to find it became my clarity and in awareness gave me a deeper understanding that every person has inherent dignity and that the greatest gift we can offer one another is to be fully present. That experience continues to influence how I lead, how I serve, and how I build my business today.
Through every season, I’ve learned that our greatest struggles often become our greatest teachers. The experiences that once made me feel different became the very experiences that allow me to connect with myself deeper so that I could freely give and freely receive from others more deeply.
I have learned and had to teach myself to listen before I speak, to lead with compassion instead of judgment, and to create spaces where people feel safe enough to breathe, heal, and simply be themselves.
Today, I don’t measure success by having a perfect life or an easy road. I measure it by my willingness to keep growing, remain grounded in my values, and help others discover that healing isn’t about becoming someone new—it’s about remembering who they’ve always been.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about TPB Strategies & Wellness LLC / Inspired Living ?
At the heart of everything I do is one simple mission: helping people reconnect with themselves.
Through Inspired Living Coaching and TBP Strategies & Wellness, I work with individuals, entrepreneurs, executives, and organizations who are ready to move beyond simply managing stress and begin living with greater clarity, intention, and emotional well-being. My work combines coaching, nervous system regulation, somatic practices, 9D Breathwork, speaking, and meaningful conversations to help people create lasting transformation from the inside out.
What makes my approach different is that I don’t believe people need fixing. I believe they need the right environment to slow down, become aware, reconnect with themselves, and move forward from a place of alignment rather than survival. Whether someone joins me for a private coaching session, an executive reset, a breathwork experience, a workshop, or even hears me through my podcast or radio show, my hope is always the same—that they leave feeling more grounded, more connected, and more equipped to navigate life with confidence and compassion.
I’m also passionate about creating conversations that matter. Through my podcast and radio work, I have the privilege of sharing the stories of authors, entrepreneurs, nonprofit leaders, and changemakers who are making a positive impact in their communities. I believe stories have the power to inspire hope, create understanding, and remind us that none of us are walking this journey alone.
What I’m most proud of isn’t a single program or accomplishment. It’s the trust people place in me and the space we’ve created together. My greatest joy is watching someone who arrived feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or uncertain leave with renewed clarity, hope, and a deeper connection to themselves.
If there’s one thing I’d want readers to know, it’s this: transformation doesn’t begin by becoming someone else. It begins by remembering who you’ve always been. Everything I create—whether it’s coaching, speaking, breathwork, media, or community experiences—is designed to help people return to that place.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
What makes me happiest is watching people discover they have more capacity than they ever imagined.
We live in a world filled with uncertainty, differing opinions, constant transactions, and moments that can easily pull us into fear or self-protection. For me, joy isn’t found in avoiding those realities. It’s found in learning how to remain present in the middle of them.
The greatest gift I’ve experienced in my own life has been discovering that courage isn’t the absence of fear. Courage is having the capacity to face fear without allowing it to define me. The more I’ve learned to regulate my own nervous system, the less I’ve felt the need to prove myself, defend my worth, or seek validation from others. That has been incredibly freeing.
What surprises me most is that when I’m grounded and aligned within myself, I don’t experience differences as threats anymore. Contrast becomes an invitation to understand instead of a reason to judge. I can disagree without disconnecting. I can remain open without abandoning my own values. That kind of freedom has transformed not only my relationships, but the way I live and lead every day.
That’s why I love working with people. I believe every person has an incredible capacity for growth, healing, and connection. When someone begins to trust themselves again, they naturally begin to trust life a little more. Watching that unfold is one of the greatest privileges of my work.
Maybe that’s why I love the ocean so much. The waves are never perfectly still. They ebb and flow, rise and fall, yet they remain part of something far greater. Life feels much the same. Peace isn’t found in controlling every wave. It’s found in learning that we have the capacity to move with them.
