Today we’d like to introduce you to Heeva Asefvaziri.
Hi Heeva, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My name is Heeva Asefvaziri and I started Flush Packaging in 2019. I studied Industrial Technology and Packaging at California Polytechnic State University San Luis Obispo. My first job after graduating in 2011 was at a packaging company in Southern California where I began as a junior structural packaging designer. It was there where I discovered my passion for solving packaging challenges through structural design. After a few years, I went off to consult independently for larger companies that needed help solving their structural/protective packaging challenges. It was in 2019 where I shifted my focus from helping large organizations to wanting to help the smallest of businesses with their packaging needs.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not been a smooth road nor has it been a clear, straight path. However I am not unique in this as I have come to learn that this is the most common case with those who start a business and decided to stick with it. I can say that for me it has only been possible through the years of support and encouragement from family and friends.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Flush Packaging is known for developing protective structural packaging products tailored uniquely for shipping common, standard fragile vessels (e.g. glass jars, mason jars, glass bottles) without bubble wrap or packing peanuts. All our designs are made from corrugated cardboard that is readily curbside-recyclable. The vessels our boxes are designed for are used across many applications – from candles to jams to sauces and beyond. We are proud that we have been able to solve the packaging challenges of thousands of small, at-home businesses through designs that string together the common thread between them – the vessels themselves.
How do you think about happiness?
I am most happy when I hear directly from our customers that we have helped them grow their businesses through better packaging. Our customers understand the value great packaging can have on a brand and appreciate the role it plays in allowing them to scale their businesses with confidence. I like to think that our approach to packaging is helping in some small way shift the perspective of packaging from a necessary evil to a powerful tool for growth.
