Exploring Life & Business with Eric Boesser of Boesser Ftiness

Today we’d like to introduce you to Eric Boesser.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I have always been an active person, from team sports in middle school and college, to aerial and circus arts into my adult years. A few years ago I became certified as a personal trainer and began working with people, teaching them how to move, pulling from the experiences I had. Along my journey, I have dealt with many injuries between plantar fasciitis, IT Band Syndrome, disc herniations, and much more. Going through those injuries and finding the way to get past them has inspired me to want to help others to train their bodies, teaching people to move more effectively and avoid injury. I know how important movement and being active has been for my life and well being, and how common the experience of joy from movement is. I’m moved to help people out there to benefit from what I have to share so they can continue to move and enjoy their lives the way they want to.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Whether it was a smooth road or not, I put up with issues and pain for way longer than I should have. I had herniated my back in 2017 and shied away from the movements responsible, effectively ignoring the problem. When I reinjured it in 2023, it really forced me to take a more serious look at myself, how I was moving and using my body in order to make a change. This forced me to learn more, and accept that what I had been doing may not have been right. It opened me up to growth and changing of perspectives that I think was pivotal in improving as a trainer but also as a human in other elements of my life.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Boesser Ftiness?
My personal training practice focuses on getting people more in tune with their bodies. Each session is both a learning lesson and a workout. Incorporating novel ways of moving the body with traditional lifting and training helps people become more intentional with their movement and therefore more adept at making improvements and changes. I often say “meet your body where it’s at” to help people understand how we can properly train the body, whether that is coming back from an injury or returning to activity after a break. I’m especially adept at making movements accessible and breaking them down enough that anyone can feel confident they are working and making progress towards their goal.

Sessions are challenging yet fun. I create a space to help people learn what it means to push themselves, to use their body in a new way, and feel their intention and confidence in movement grow.

What does success mean to you?
Success to me is knowing I added value to someone’s life through my teaching, coaching, and training. Whether it was the encouragement to keep them trying something, helping them understand a concept or movement properly, or anything that they get to take away from the session and apply to their life from there. The sheer potential of sharing what I have with others feels so impactful to me compared to me accomplishing things on my own. So to hear that people use drills I gave them, shared ideas with others, that is success to me because I had a positive impact on the world through inspiring people.
