Today we’d like to introduce you to Ingrid Pagliarulo.
Hi ingrid, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Thank you for asking! I founded Napulitanamente after a more than a decade abroad, working also within the Italian community.
I launched it because I was tired of the distorted image of Italy presented by those who neither speak the language nor understand the culture—people who are not even Italian and promote clichés and a skewer perspective rather than reality, prioritizing profit over authenticity.
Napulitanamente has been our labor of love for six years now, and what a ride it’s been.
We completed our first edition with 10 semiannual issues plus 5 Christmas specials—and you know what’s been wonderful? People are collecting the entire first edition set. That really touched us. Now we’re deep into our second edition, with issue number 2 arriving this Fall.
What do we do differently? We bring celebrated artists and emerging talents together on the same pages. There’s something magical about that mix—the established voices inspiring the new ones, and vice versa.
Our Mediterranean Cocktail of Art event has become something we’re incredibly proud of. After launching in Hollywood(California) in 2023, last year we hosted 22 artists across six evenings in Naples and Tropea (Italy)—about 100 artworks and performances in these stunning venues. Our publication is read all over the world, and separately, the Mediterranean Cocktail of Art event broadcast by TeatroTV reached audiences in the USA, Brazil, Chile, China, Japan… places we only dreamed about at the very start.
It’s been quite an adventure. We can’t wait to see where it takes us next.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Smooth road? (laughs) Not even close—and I don’t think it is for anyone, really.
Every day you have to be ready to reinvent yourself. I’ve always believed that the most difficult roads yield the greatest satisfaction once you reach the goal. Though thinking about it now, I’m not sure if I truly believed it or just desperately hoped for it! (laughs) Either way, I’m in the game, and since I was a dancer, I keep dancing. If nothing else, I do it on principle. (laughs)
But jokes aside, today’s real difficulties? Ignorance, prejudice, and superficiality. And here’s the thing—it all stems from a global system that presents itself as the problem-solver while actually complicating everything.
Culture has to fight against the sterile accumulation of notions. Freedom of thought clashes with the indoctrination of “single thought.” There are no more nuances, no historical memory. It takes enormous effort to maintain any kind of continuity in a system where everything—starting with thought itself—is disposable!
So yes, the road has been challenging. But that’s exactly why projects like Napulitanamente matter. We’re not just publishing pretty pages—we’re preserving something real, something meaningful, in a world that’s increasingly forgetting how to think deeply.”

We tell the stories that matter—the real Naples, the real Mediterranean area. We dig deeper than stereotypes to uncover the extraordinary talent, history, and culture that make this region captivating. Our content is original, independent, and unbiased.

There’s a funny thing: every time we’ve held MCOA, Napoli won the Italian championship! (laughs) It connects us to the energy of our people in a way that feels almost magical.
This year, we’re hosting more intimate scouting events to discover talent and meet supporters face-to-face.They are events with a distinct *Dolce Vita* vibe, held in open-air venues; they are always sold out, and the artists themselves feel welcomed as if at a party thrown just for them!

How do you think about happiness?
Are you asking what makes me happy about the publication? I love its authenticity, and it makes me happy when that authenticity is embraced—whether it becomes the foundation for dialogue, communication, or genuine connection. The threads binding Mediterranean cities together are colorful strands woven with stories. They are, perhaps, our roots rising up and reaching toward you, striving to keep existing, connecting, and doing their quiet work. And it is precisely from this observation that the “Threads of the Sea” column was born—a column that is read more widely in the rest of Europe than in Italy. Strange, don’t you think? I would say that Napulitanamente—and everyting we do through the Low Pulse Project—serve merely as a pretext to follow those threads and share the journey ensuring they never break.
